RE: [Finale] Mac to PC

2005-05-13 Thread Joseph Beckitt
Sometimes I find it's easier if you convert archives to self-extracting ones
before you send them. That way you don't have to worry about people not
having the right programs in order to open them.

What should I do at my end; What should he do at his?

Sounds like you did everything right. I assume he has a version of
Notepad that is 2003 or later? And that his computer WILL run Notepad
(that is, it is modern enough and has all the right operating system
and all that)?

One last thing that sometimes has to happen: if he double-clicks on the
file and it doesn't open, sometimes it WILL open using control-O from
inside Finale.

If you send me the file privately, I will try to open it to see if
indeed the file is good.

RE: [Finale] Converting a file

I think that the musicxml format would be better for that. Export your file
from finMac2k5b then import that in FinMac2k4c.

Subject: [Finale] Converting a file

Dear folks,

I have a very simple 16-bar example that I created using FinMac2k5b.
I would like to convert it to a FinMac2k4c file by saving it as an
ETF file, altering the text, then saving it as a 2k4 ETF file. I
remember someone giving the details that need to be changed. Could
you run them by me again? TIA

RE: [Finale] Bluetooth keyboard

2005-01-29 Thread Joseph Beckitt
Bluetooth has always fascinated me, but thinking about Bluetooth
keyboards/mice makes me wonder if there are any midi Bluetooth interfaces?
Does anyone know of any?

Yes and yes. It works great. I've used it with computers with
built-in BlueTooth, and also using the D-Link USB Bluetooth module. If
your computer has built-in Bluetooth, you can even access FireWire
Target Disk Mode, Open Firmware, reset PRAM, force boot from a CD, etc,
using your Bluetooth keyboard.
