Re: [Finale] Display Elapsed Time

2018-01-23 Thread Michael Johnson
Hi Robert:

You can define a measure number to be time of mm:ss and then display them
on every measure. Note the Measure Number Bar in Scroll/Studio view will
also display the time this way. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Michael

Subject: [Finale] Display Elapsed Time
Does anyone know a way to get Finale to display elapsed time in mm:ss? I
would like to see it at the beginning of every bar, but if there were a way
to show it as part of an expression that would be fine too.

I need it main as a composition aid more than something to display on the
final score.

Hi Robert:

If you set up a measure number region of time... with the hour unchecked
and using whole seconds. Then display the measure numbers on every measure,
you should be able to get your results. Note also the Measure number bar in
Scroll / Studio view will also display the time when configured this way.

Cheers,
Michael

[Finale] Downloadable current manual

2017-08-17 Thread Michael Johnson
Hi Michael:

a Downloadable manual is available here for version 25 through 2009
https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010572707-User-Manuals-Finale-v25-Finale-2009

The v25 manual was posted a few months ago based on user requess. Perhaps
your info was out of date. It certainly wasn't posted with the initial
release

I jumped the gun.
This is the KBA with the instructions on downloading the manual.
Guess, I need to drink a little more coffee before my early morning replies

Re: [Finale] Weird transposing bug in Finale 25

2016-10-06 Thread Michael Johnson
Hi Prof. Howey:

I'm intrigued by your report. I just tried several combinations of key
change in a grand staff and then raised the key in all measures by a degree
and both treble and bass clefs behaved as they always have. Can you please
provide more details? What instruments? What keys? What transposition?
Looking forward to solving the mystery.

Cheers,
Michael

One of Finale's most useful tools has been the power to transpose keys
while maintaining relationships, particular when modes are involved.

I just took a scale study and set up a master. Both bass and treble clefs
were involved. While the treble minor section transposed correctly, the
bass clef section ignored the minor section altogether and left the notes
on the staff unmoved.
