Re: [Finale] compatibility with OS Catalina
I think caution is a good policy on Catalina as it has gained a reputation for breaking things. Hopefully Apple with get the bugs worked out. [Finale] delay when accessing font dialog
Lately, I've been experiencing a 10 to 15 second or so delay anytime I access any dialog that has to do with setting a font. So something seems to be struggling with the loading of the fonts. There is also a long delay on initial Finale startup which may or may not be related. -- Finale 2008 Win7 ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu

Re: [Finale] Combining text and Finale
Thanks. I've been trying to figure out how to export a seletion from Finale as a TIFF in the Graphics Tool (in page view). But what happens is I use the selection tool to select one or more measures, then as soon as I go to Tools>Advanced Tools>Graphics Tool my selection dissapears! (and therefore the Export Selection command is disabled). The only thing I've been able to do is use the Export Page command. [Finale] Combining text and Finale
I'm writing up a very short guide in OpenOffice Writer for students which is text heavy and I wish to intersperse some very short (mostly single measure) examples which I create in Finale, but not sure on the best way to combine these. I want to have good quality DPI on the Finale bits so it looks good when printed. (not screenshots) I thought about doing it all in Finale using text boxes for the text, but there is the matter of dealing with sizing and positioning of staves for very short bits of music - usually single measures placed here and there with mostly text. Also, when I copy/paste my work from OpenOffice into a Finale text box, my text formatting is gone and I'd need to manually start over with the formatting. No biggie, but just one more thing to deal with. Just looking for some feedback/suggestions before continuing. -- Finale 2008 Win7 ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu

Thanks. So you mean if I wanted F E D# E I would place the # below the Turn symbol to indicate that? On Sat, Oct 25, 2014 at 10:07 PM, Ryan Beard wrote: > Yes. [Finale] can turns have accidentals over them?
This isn't really a Finale-specific question, but a general notation question. When notating a trill (and perhaps also a mordent) where the note being trilled to is not in the key signature, as in for example E natural trilling up to F# where the key signature is C Major, I would place a # over the trill symbol to indicate that the note being trilled to is raised. But what happens if the ornament is a turn? Like, if I have C Major key signature, and I have a turn symbol over E natural and I want the turn to be performed as F# E D E instead of F(nat) E D E? Would I just do the same and place a # over the turn symbol? Seems like it might be confusing. -- Finale 2008 Win7 ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu
