Re: [Finale] Group names
Try removing optimization from the offending staves and re-applying it. That usually solves this problem for me. All group names display properly when the systems are not optimized. As soon as you optimize or apply "Allow Individual Staff Spacing" on the system they disappear. -Original Message- From: finale-boun...@shsu.edu [mailto:finale-boun...@shsu.edu] On Behalf Of David W. [Finale] Group names
We have a problem with group names disappearing from the page view after deleting number of measures in the file. All groups are set properly and they display in the scroll view. Using TGTools to rebuild the groups does not work. It puts the same text (i.e. Vc.) in all groups in the entire file. Any ideas? Re: [Finale] Group names
There is no difference between Fin06 and Fin07 with regards to staff optimization. After optimization you can manually change the group name without changing oter systems. This has been true since the first version of Finale that had group names. (Perhaps since Fin97 or earlier.) Rafael L. There won't be problems with the part, as the group name is not showing there, but in the score I need to change the group name to "Celesta" and there is no way to apply a Staff style to a group. In Finale 2007, after applying system optimization, I can create new groups (and their group names) where I need them, but in Finale 2006 (and I need to send this file in that format) I don't see an easy way to accomplish this (unless it implies working with two grand staves, one for the piano and the other for the celesta, which will be hidden accordingly at optimization time) Is there any other way to get this? Just use the staff tool in page view to change the group name as needed. It's still a bit of a hassle to have to do this for each system -- I don't think there's a way to do it for several systems at once -- but at least it's possible. Re: [Finale] Group names in linked parts?
For some reason I thought group names were permanently unlinked. If not, you can always do it with optimization. > -Original Message- > From: Darcy James Argue [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2006 04:46 PM > To: finale@shsu.edu > Subject: [Finale] Group names in linked parts? > > What do you do if you don't want the group name to show in the linked > part -- in, for instance, a piano part or harp part -- but *do* want > it to show in the score? > > Cheers, > > - Darcy > - > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://secretsociety.typepad.com > Brooklyn, NY > > > > ___ > Finale mailing list > Finale@shsu.edu > http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale > ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

What do you do if you don't want the group name to show in the linked part -- in, for instance, a piano part or harp part -- but *do* want it to show in the score?
