Re: [Finale] Printer problem with Maverick
Chuck, By virtual Lion I mean running Lion under Parallels or Fusion. Apple explicitly allows Lion to be run as a virtual, so it should work. Printing would be a little cumbersome, so I don't recommend this unless you only do printing in isolated batches. Re: [Finale] Printer problem with Maverick
Chuck, I faced the same problem trying to print to my trusted Dell 3100cn. It worked before, but not after the update. The solution I found was to turn printer sharing ON on another Mac in my house that I had not updated to mavericks. Both computers must be on the same wi-fi network. Then on my Maverick computer I used the find printer feature and it discovered it via my iMac and printed perfectly. Re: [Finale] Printer problem with Maverick
Terry Vosbein's idea might actually a good idea for a virtual Lion as well. If your computer has enough memory to run Lion in a virtual all the time in the background, you can leave it running as your print server. I can't swear it will work, but I think there is a good chance it will. This basically allows you to do what Terry did without having a second computer running. Re: [Finale] Printer problem with Maverick
Thanks for the help, Terry Robert. Other machines here are on Maverick, but running Lion in the background might work. At this point, I am restoring my data after a trip to the Mac store where they did a clean re-install of 10.8. I hope I can get that working today as we are off on travels at the crack of dawn tomorrow, and there are things I hope to accomplish before we leave.
