Re: [Finale] respect the lists purpose!!!!!!
So it is! And thanks to John Blane as well for the same observation. Although, it doesn't respect ties (Sibelius will change both tied notes at once) but it DOES skip rests properly. This is a real find. Thanks so much to both of you. Christopher On 15-Oct-07, at 5:29 PM, Odile Gruet wrote: Is this not the fonction of repitch tool (Finale)? Christer Wallstrom wrote: Isnt this a finale list? Not a Sibelius promotion. I think it is enough Sib talk know. Please use an other fourm for Your Sib talk Actually it's a list for users of Finale (which all of us are) on which we are encouraged to discuss not only the program of Finale, but also matters of larger interest in the notation field. If that doesn't include Sibelius, then I'm confused (it won't be the first time.) As for wanting a thread to stop, the best way is to raise a question or start a different discussion. None of us is paid to be here, so as with most human situations the conversations wander where they will. Feel free to ask a question if you have a problem with Finale, in the absence of a redirection of the conversation, it'll probably meander still. -- David H. Please use an other fourm for Your Sib talk I haven't seen your name posting here before (I may be wrong) but one thing you should know about this list is that many subjects get discussed that are closely-related or distantly-related to Finale, and even some that are completely unrelated. The only thing we ask (as a matter of civilised convention, not rules) is to refrain from flames, personal attacks and pointless vulgarity, and to mark off- topic or tangential posts as OT or TAN, which so far has been surprisingly well-respected. Most of us make liberal use of the Delete key when the discussion is not pertinent to our present interests, or if we are tired. Maybe if MakeMusic had an official presence here, or perhaps got off it's ass and issued an update to 2007 or 2008 that addresses some of the bug complaints and what not, we wouldn't be having all this discussion about Sibelius. At least Sibelius seems to actively engage its customers...MakeMusic..not so much.if at all. Christer Wallstrom wrote: Isnt this a finale list? Not a Sibelius promotion. Absolutely NOT!This has been one of the most relevant discussions I've ever experienced in my five+ years on this list. The thread is of great interest to me, and judging from the variety of responses, I'd have to guess I'm not alone.
