One of the solutions I've found that works is one of the most expensive, both in terms of time and money: Tom Kubis plays all of the parts into his system, using a wind controller. But with just a synth and no human input, all youre going to get is a rough idea. Garritan Jazz and Big Band is a separate purchase. No JABB instruments are (currently) included with Finale. Dean, You really need to remember to provide context for your questions -- for instance, in this case, before anyone can answer your question, we need to know whether you are using Finale's SoftSynth, GPO Finale Edition, GPO Full, or some other soundfont or instrument set. Assuming you are using GPO Finale Edition, there is no muted trumpet including in this instrument set. Mute expression and changes the sound. (It also changes back to normal on seeing "Open") I suspect that, if Finale says you can do this, you can find a similar sample in their library.
