Re: [Fink-users] sawfish installation problem

Hello Remi,
Sorry I never responded, I tried to write a reply but I wasn't able to
answer the questions you posed to my satisfaction. Please do commit
your control-center2 version of sawfish.

Thanks,
Daryl

Hi,
You could also build sawfish against control-center2. I have a private

sawfish never responded to my mail (a long time ago and I never
followed it up).

needs to remain available to users. I would suggest renaming the
.info
file for the new version, perhaps to control-center2.info. The
alternative
is to create a package for backwards compatibility called
control-center-shlibs.info . But I'm afraid that if there are still
things
like sawfish which depend on the old version, it's too early to give
up
the headers associated to control-center-shlibs.

I don't know how that got in there, but it certainly never caused that

Jeff fixed this now in CVS. There are, however, a couple of other
features of this version that do not work:

- the Help browser does not work, because the whatis.htm files in the
subdirectories of man are not created. This did work in previous
versions of scilab.

- the Editor button does not work, because the libtk8.4 library is
called with a wrong name ('so' instead of 'dylib'). Even if this is
corrected, there are other tk bugs later on that break this new feature.

[Fink-users] Rép : [Fink-users] plots crash scilab-atlas-3.0-1

2004-06-27 Thread Jean-Claude DE SOZA
Martin,

I found the thread opened by kinako on 2003-11-25. You said :

But I found a solution now: One has to compile the file periX11.c with
-O instead of -O2. I seem to remember from the distant past that this
was once needed. It seems that Apple reintroduced a very old
optimisation bug in gcc-3.3.
If Jeff doesn"t object, I will put corrected scilab.info files into the
10.2-gcc3.3 and 10.3 trees tomorrow.
In the meantime, one can fix one"s own scribus info file as follows: In
the CompileScript, add a line in the middle between configure and make
all, so that it looks as follows:
./configure %c
make CFLAGS=-O routines/graphics/periX11.o
make all
Then rebuild scilab, and the crash should be history.

Where is the CompileScript?

keywords...) should change IF and THEN from black to pink. But what
happens at random is that xemacs crashes. It makes it almost

think it is a bug in xemacs, not a fink problem, but I wonder if any
body has experience it with other languages like C Right now I
returned to xemacs 21.4.9 that I have faithfully saved (compiled
under 10.2, woeks like a charm!)

Paul: Attached is an .info file for xemacs 21.4.15 (the latest stable

(make the directory if you don't have one), add "local/main" to Trees
in /sw/etc/fink.conf, and "fink update xemacs". If it fixes your
problem, I'll add it to CVS. BTW: the only reason fink's xemacs is
the beta version (21.5.X) is because at the time I added the package,
the stable version wouldn't work. Perhaps it's time make the stable

[Fink-users] GTK+2 non-programming Questions

2004-06-27 Thread Dan Sommers
Hi,

(2.2.1 (unstable) and 2.0.6 (stable)) is behind current-10.3 and
even 0.7.0 (2.2.4). May I respectfully request an update?

I'm not a heavy user/developer, but I am in a position to be a
guinea pig for at least minimal testing. Can I help?

Also, gtk+2 still depends on freetype2, which I thought was now
deprecated because XFree86 now includes it. I'm running XFree86
4.4.0 (installed from the binaries at XFree86.org). Can I safely
purge freetype2 from my system?

Thank you for your assistance, as well as your continued efforts
