This is the error message I get. I am not really sure how to overcome this.
What X11 do you have? Do you happen to have an X11 that you installed
over another one? The only time I've seen this is when X11 headers
and/or freetype get mixed-and-matched.

It would also be useful to see what the actual g++ line looked like, and
not just the warnings.

We put a lot of thought into our defaults. We like them. If we
didn't, we would have made something else be the default. So
keep your cotton-pickin' hands off our defaults. Don't touch.
Consider them mandatory. "Mandatory defaults" has a nice ring
to it.

[Fink-users] pgpenvelope does not install

2004-11-16 Thread Claus Atzenbeck
Hi,

did anyone out there install pgpenvelope? It does not work for me:

$ fink install pgpenvelope
Information about 4046 packages read in 4 seconds.
Failed: Can't resolve dependency "term-readkey-pm" for package
"pgpenvelope-2.10.2-1" (no matching packages/versions found)

I guess the reason is that there is no term-readkey-pm, but only
-581, -580, etc.

I have
Mac OS 10.3.6
Package manager version: 0.23.3
Distribution version: 0.7.1.rsync

I cc this to the maintainer.

Greetings,
Claus

[Fink-users] Fink and tcpreplay

2004-11-16 Thread Jason Luke

Running OS X 10.3.6
Package manager version 0.22.4
Distribution version 0.7.1.cvs

The following webpage,
http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/tcpreplay, shows that tcpreplay
2.3.1-12 is a package in the unstable directory but I do not have any info
files about tcpreplay anywhere. Normally when I need to install something
that is only in unstable I copy its finkinfo file from unstable to stable,
but now I'm lost.

Anybody know how I install tcpreplay via Fink?

Jason

[Fink-users] os x update killed gnome

2004-11-16 Thread P. George
I had gnome running great for several weeks. A couple of days ago I
ran a whole long list of updates to OS X (security, quicktime, java,
and others... like 15 or so).

Then today, I go to use the GIMP and I can't get Gnome to fully get
going. I see the gnome desktop appear and my icons are on it as usual,
but no taskbar/dock (or whatever it's called in gnome) and no windows
will open when i double-click on folder icons. When I look back at the
Terminal.app window that i used to launch startx, i see (and pardon me
for dumping a bunch of junk in here, but it looks pretty relevant):

Sounds like it. The maintainer of a package is the first person you
should (try to) contact regarding upgrade requests...
