[Fink-users] system-perl in 10.3
Is system-perl needed in Mac OS X 10.3? The .deb and .info files I have for system-perl are all in the 10.2 and 10.2-gcc3 trees. However, fink list system-perl produces the following output (even after rebuilding the index): i system-perl 5.8.1-1[virtual package representing perl] On the other hand, dpkg -r --force-all system-perl results in the following contradictory warning: dpkg - warning: ignoring request to remove system-perl which isn't installed. What gives? If you ran the exact same fink program on a 10.2 machine it would say it's 5.6.0-1 for you instead, automatically. You can't remove it because it doesn't actually exist in dpkg as a package, it's faked by Fink. --- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
