If you prefer the old style, you need to add a property
:sectnumlevels: 1
to the properties at the start of the firebird-3-release-notes.adoc.

Generally I agree with the multi-level numbering, but it seems I don't
like it much in the release notes, especially for sub-sections (3rd
level). I will play with different numbering levels and think more about it.

Thanks!

Just built the v3 release notes as asciidocPdf and I see a difference in
numbering. In prior builds (docbook-based) chapters were enumerated but
sub-chapters weren't. Now we have:

1.1. Sub-release V.3.0.7
1.1.1. V.3.0.7 Improvements
etc

I probably missed discussion related to this, so I'd like to ask whether
this change is intentional or not.

Just a quick note: the conversion of the Firebird 3 and Firebird 4
release notes to AsciiDoc is done. I haven't published or updated the
links for existing release notes. This update will happen when the next
release is done.

In response to feedback on the firebird-admins list regarding the font
used for headings in the PDF, I have made a change to the theme to use a
sans-serif font for the headings and title page. In addition, I changed
the title page style so the title is now bold (was normal), while the
subtitle is now italic (was bold-italic).

I uploaded a new version of the PDF

It is my intention to apply this style change to all PDFs.

Looks mighty fine to me!
Mind you, I just browsed. I didn't examine any details. But it just looks good.
