Update on Tillie

Happy New Year to all,

I'm pleased to say Mom's stroke was a mild one. She ended up spending only
Sunday and Monday in hospital, and came home on Tuesday morning. So, we had a
good New Years! She is kind of weak on the left leg, but is walking around
pretty good. Her doc thinks she will have a mostly full recovery. Thank you all
for
your kind thoughts!

We have had about a foot of snow here since Monday. Everything looks so
pretty and clean... Until it all melts. The two younger horses (1 1/2 & 2 1/2
yrs)
are having a blast running in the snow!

Hi Jean,

Oops. My apologies to the list for sending the pics.
I just re-read the letter I received when joining the
group and see that pictures are not permitted. I hope
I didn't mess anyone up. Also, Jean, I tried to
search the archives by following the directions on
that same letter and it wouldn't let me in. I need a
password?

Thanks,
Tamara

Thanks for the info. He sounds like a real doll from
the owner's description. I'm glad he has good
breeding. She says his only "vices", so to speak, are
that he doesn't like clippers or fly spray. I can
work around both of those things. Oh, and he will
back instead of going forward when asked to go and
then corrects easily, but I think I can work on fixing
that also. I have not met him yet, as someone else
called before me, so I am waiting to see if they take
him or not. I have pics on my other email address and
will forward them to the list also.

Thanks again,
Tamara

Hi Tamara,

Anvil Acres, Orville and Anita Unrau were once one of the major Fjord
Breeders. (An= Anita, Vil= Orville) They since have downsized and sold
much of their breeding stock. The gelding, Anvil's Harrison, is related to
my two mares, Stella, and Anvil's Adel. Unraus imported Stella and her
dam, Line along with a group of other mares from Norway in 1981..Line was
the mother of Fakse, one of the rare yellow duns in Norway, and is
prominant in the pedigree of many excellent Fjords. They also imported
Rudaren and Leidjo whao are very influential in the breeding programs of
Fjords here in North America. Check out Harrison's pedigree:
http://www.nfhr.com/ponyweb/ponyweb.cgi?horse=200210&HorseName=harrison&Page
=1&Sort=0(or enter his name to search if link doesn't work)
Leidjo is an excellent stallion, sire of my Adel. Adel is a yellow dun.
I note that Harrison is a red dun..gets that from Line! All in all,
excellent bloodlines! I'd love to see a picture of him!

Harrison should be a good Fjord with a good mind if Bloodlines mean anything!

Search the archives for messages posted by Anita Unrau..some interesting
stuff. They had their Fjords in the Movie, 13th Warrior, Orville has
represented Canada in the World singles driving championships.

Hi all,

I am looking at a Fjord gelding that is Anvil's
Harrison. I would like to know more about their
breeding program. Is "Anvil" on this list? Or anyone
familiar with the breeder?

Many thanks,
Tamara

Hi List:

This is just a quick note to let everyone know that my Mom, Tillie went
into
the hospital yesterday with what appears to be a very mild stroke. The
Docs
think a small clot was to blame and are taking appropriate measures. She
does
not have paralysis, but some loss of coordination in her left arm and
leg. Will
keep you all posted on her progress.
