Looking for team in So Cal

2004-10-15 Thread Gail Russell

First, Jean, I think everyone is out getting ready for winter. Jim and I
went out today and picked up automatic hay feeders so we can stay in bed on
wintry mornings (or what passes for same in Northern California) and have
the horses automatically fed, perfectly on time.

A man named Clyde Wood, form San Gabriel CA, stopped by today, having seen
my Fjords in the field. He is looking for a team of Fjords, to pull a
wagon. He lives in San Gabriel. I have his snail mail address downstairs,
to forward to anyone who might have a team for sale (I am just too lazy to
go downstairs right now to get the address, get glasses so I can read it,
come back up and postnot trying to withhold it or anything like that.)

He is from Germany, and remembers use of Fjords in Germany to pull cannons
during the war. He seems to be interested in draft type. I think I may
have seen a message on the list previously by someone else who had
encountered him and posted to the list. He says he had Fjords years ago as
well. Wants a team to pull a wagon. Anywayhe is interested.

Gail

Is the list really off the air or people just too busy or is my computer
off?

I've been trying to beat the clock on getting three Fjords under saddle
before the snow flies - two down one to go.
Unlike Patti Jo Walter and Mary Ofjord whom ride no matter what the
weather - I hate cold. I

If God had intended for us to be out in the cold and snow he wouldn't have
invented those great heated seats in our automobiles. : ) Its getting
cold here in Illinois.

Probably real busy all right... winter coming on... so much to do! I gave 15
Fjord haircuts this week in ONE day!!! Is that some kind of record? (is
there a McFjordish Book of Records for that kind of thing?) ...or maybe
everyone is reading their new copy of the Fjord Herald? Lovely shot of
Flotren in there.. jumping into the Big Sky of Montana..

and a good weekend to all Ruthie, nw mt
