This message is from: "Olivia Farm, Inc." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hello from Olivia Farm,

I wanted to write in and let everyone know that our farm web-site,
www.oliviafarm.com, is updated with our results and photos from the Libby show.
We have also added our lovely grey brood-mare, MVF Kariella (by Karibu) to our
sales list, if anyone is looking for a proven producer and well-trained riding
horse.

Olivia Farm is hosting a Fall Fjord Festival on the 30th of this month (next
Saturday!) and we are inviting everyone to come and spend the day with us! We
have a web-site devoted to the festival, www.fjords4sale.com, which includes
directions, information, and sales list. Of course, this is not just a sales
event, but a day to share our love of Fjords with each-other and with the
public. You are all welcome to bring horses to ride or drive or just come,
hang-out, and chat fjords!

Hope you are all having a wonderful fall!

  Happy Fjording,

Greetings to all PNFPG members from Warren and Sylvia Riddle, Teddy
Bear Fjords. The following motion will be presented for a vote at
the November 4 PNFPG meeting in Yakima WA:

That the September 2007 International Fjord Show, sponsored by
PNFPG, shall be held at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake,
Washington.

As members, not officers of PNFPG, we, Warren and Sylvia Riddle,
will bring this proposed motion before the members for discussion
and vote. PNFPG meets only twice yearly to conduct business. At
these business meetings absentee votes are not permissible under
PNFPG By-laws. Warren>>>

THAT sounds irregular? most bylaws make provision for a total
membership vote on any kind of significant departation from the state
of bylaw origin. Certainly the state level guideline for incorporating
would include this provision, because many states frown on conflicted
corporation takeovers, and might not this appear to be? (with only a
minimal vote)

In any case, provision or no, it only seems fair and upright in a
proposal of this magnitude, to include the entire membership in the
decision. Not doing so could lend the appearance of rank piracy, and
ruffle many feathers.

The rise and fall of successful shows have a delicate balance that can
be easily tipped, we just attended the annual Sandpoint ID Draft horse
show and were dismayed to find it only a quarter the size of a few
years ago! Not sure why, someone suggested increasing ingrown
management (no outreach). It seemed like many regular show horse
participants were there, but not near the exhibitors nor the
spectactors.

When it comes to making sudden MAJOR changes in a show, we should
perhaps proceed with discretionary caution and some careful planning.
I suggest research into other horse shows that have made bold moves,
and additionally garnering the majority support of the ENTIRE
membership.

If you really think this list is unfairly censored, please ponder
why you are still able to post to it.

aw come on now, the rhetoric is a little over the top. Any one who has
been on the list for awhile knows that there are certain members and
certain topics which incite highly charged responses, many of which are
off the cuff, not well thought out and would not be tolerated in a
kitchen table discussion among friends. E-mail tends to reduce the
inherent civility in all of us and is akin to shoooting a bullet up in
the air. You never know where it lands. It becomes a forum to air
grievances not a friendly exchange of ideas. In a kitchen table
discussion you can see by an expression when the line has been crossed.
In person, you can smile and say, lets agree to disagree and move on.
Due to the nature of e-mail and the ease with which we hit the send
button to things that we would couch differently face to face, having
someone like Steve remind us is a good thing. Frankly the discussion
concerning the events at the show make me as a reader uncomfortable.
The hurt, frust
ration and anger comes through loud and clear, and whether justified or
not, belongs in another arena, because the list cannot do anything about
it nor should we. I have friends who react the same way in person and
can turn a simple gathering of friends into an uncomfortable
situation. It becomes uncomfortable to include them in social gatherings
when they get hot, and prompts other members to quit participating, so
rather than ostracise them, we change the subject and put a moratorium
on talking about whatever subject it is, in a firm but compassionate
manner. As a result, we can enjoy each others diversity and remain
friends. This is exactly what Steve has done.

What you have done is the equivalent of starting a restaurant, being the owner
and manager, and saying I will serve certain individuals but I will not serve
other individuals because, well, just because I have my favorites.

You waited until one person had slandered others before the whole Fjord
world. Then you cut off those who want to respond to his slander. Was the
slanderer banned from the website?NO. He was allowed to repeat and repeat and
amplify his slander. Only those who want to respond, to protect their
reputations and/or to rebuild the reputations of those who have been defamed
have now been told, SHUT UP.

Steve you have written me personally, and I thank you for the letter, but it
seemed to be a carbon copy of the one I got from the Fred P Does this lead
me to believe you have the same handler? Well I do not know

I do not buy your logic of why you feel the need of such censorship of a
public list in this manner. Let me encourage you to be your own man and think
for yourself Some people are full of phony excuses such as ---I did not
have sex with that woman…Maybe that metaphor is less offensive to some than
a joke about chocolate.

I'm sorry, because I'm sure there are more points of view to hear; - So I
am asking that further discussion on this subject cease. Thank you all.

Well speaking of Chocolate, please pass me some more chocolate as my blood
pressure is going past 300 and rising fast -- Would some one fill me in on
the stealth cross breeding program?

25th Celebration / Silent Auction

2006-09-25 Thread fjords
This message is from: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hello ALL!

The silent auction for the Norwegian Fjord horse FOUNDATION will end at the
dinner at the 25th Celebration. This dinner will be at a lovely golf resort
and will start with a social hour and then dinner at 8 PM. The auction will
end approximately at 9 PM. I am packing up the items now to bring with me
on my journey to MN. I will be hauling 2 horses for a friend and will bring
all the NFHR & Foundation items with me in the trailer.

The on line bidding for these items will end OCTOBER 1, 2006. All other bids
will be accepted at the 25th Celebration. You may come to the Foundation
table that will be set up with the NFHR Promotional booth. And of course,
bidding will be at the dinner on Friday Night, October 13, 2006. You may
also call my cell phone at 541-944-7447 on the 13th to get your last minute
bid in. However, I ask that you try to give me your top bid on line. This
way I can print out the bid and keep it handy.

We have one more item that was added at the LIBBY show. A Norwegian Fjord
Horse Belt Buckle. This item was donated by Geri McNeil and Gordon Fulton at
Edymore from Bowden, Alberta, Canada. Thank you to Gordon & Geri!

I hope to see many of you there at the 25th Celebration. It will be an
exciting time to meet many that I have not met before.

Hugs (Fjordee style)
