Could you bring along two copies the Fjord Herald Issue 76, Fall 2005
with the Blue Earth Norwegian Bridal Procession on the front cover. I'd
also like a copy of the Winter 2006. We didn't renew our dues before
year end of 2005, so I think we missed this issue.

Thanks much!

Hello!

As the distribution center worker, I will be bringing much of the NFHR
items
for sale. This is the time to purchase Record Books and such and not
have to
pay shipping. :-)

If you are interested in a particular back issue of the Fjord Herald,
PLEASE
EMAIL ME ASAP and I will be sure to place on in the trailer to bring it
for
you. If not I will be taking just a few back issues to sell.

Again, please email me by Tuesday if you have an issue you would like me
to
hold and bring for you to the 25th Celebration.

Thank you,

  Dear List- From Brian Jensen;

I pass on this mail of mine for all of you; for future
consideration in your respective areas. There is a strong possibility that
the PNWFG will be supporting two show venues in the future. I say this
thinking of the other group areas like the Mid-West and the Eastern group
who may have similar considerations and choices in the future. See you in
Winona. Please come over and introduce yourselves to Ursula and
myself.--- Brian Jensen

Subject: RE: By-Law Vote Rule

Greetings; From Brian Jensen;

I acknowledge the thoughts and responses from group
members concerned. As a founding member of the PNWFG I recall the mandate of
promoting the Fjord Horse and its versatility to the American and Canadian
public .The fjord horse has done well in our Western American Culture
demonstrating its tractability and versatility time and time again. In my
mind it is a International treasure which requires our stewardship and
advocacy to maintain the integrity of the breed. Ursula and I have sought to
honor the breed and its mother country: Norway by learning to Judge,
Evaluate, and give clinics to those who were interested.

We; Ursula and I, have taken some pretty severe
comments from Ron Dayton and Fred Pack for our values, beliefs and standards
regarding the Fjord Horse. These comments now read at National and
International levels only lower the respect America has Internationally in
the World Fjord community . We will always look above and beyond these
comments thinking what is best for the Fjord in North America. Those kind of
similar comments in the past have motivated us to be part of the design of
the NFHR Evaluation Program--the publication of the first Record
book---becoming a NFHR Evaluator-Newsletter Publisher; and now the
first American member of the BOD for FHI. Those types of comments
unfortunately, are nothing new in our journey with the Fjord. If only people
could behave as honorably and honestly as the Fjord Horse!!

In looking at the next learning curve for our growth I
want the group to consider accepting the motion of a Moses Lake show venue
allowing those members to move forward in their direction. I also want the
group to honor the membership which wishes to remain in Libby and support
Nordic fest. That would make two smaller groups supporting two venues in the
Pacific Northwest. The groups would be doing their own work for their own
show and respectfully leaving the other group to do their work. I do not
want further polarization or pollster-taking which would further splinter
the group. There appears to be a strong beginning of we/they: all or nothing
thinking; which can do more damage than good to everyone. Either group
forcing their intent on the other will ultimately loose. No one wins.

Let us start two venues in agreement, and let time
decide. The venues would be small but supporting a natural not mandated
politically forced response. Each member instead of voting at a meeting
could support their venue of choice by attending and volunteering for the
show. This may be a future template for other groups in North America.---
Brian Jensen

Hi,

I know that many of you have received your ballots and are ready to vote.
Please wait to vote until you receive the new election information and ballots.
The candidate information sent with the ballots you just received does not
meet the requirements of the NFHR Board of Directors Election Policy.
Therefore, new information will be sent and the new deadline for voting will be
Nov 29. The new ballot envelopes will be a different color, so we can easily

Re: Folks at Beaver Dam Farm getting ready for Winona.

2006-10-02 Thread Beaver Dam Farm

This message is from: "Beaver Dam Farm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi Everybody from Carol Rivoire at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia --

Jaimie and I are coming to Winona. We'll be doing a presentation of Gjest's
offspring in the Stallion Presentation program, and right now I'm
frantically writing the commentary on Gjest and the wonderful horses that
will be representing him.. -- Starfire Farm will be there with BDF Obelisk
(Gjest x Stine - Ene daughter) , BDF John Arthur (Gjest x Holly - Solar
daughter ) , and BDF Magnum (Gjest x Holly - Solar daughter) . Sheila
Tweedie will be there showing BDF Nora (Gjest x Maryke - Hjerter-Knaeght
daughter ) . Kathy Johnson will be showing her stallion, WW Reidar
(Gjest x Ranka - Sebastian daughter ) . --- Kathy Spiegel will be showing
her stallion, BDF Titian (Gjest x Maryke - Hjerter-Knaeght daughter ). ---
Curt Pierce will show Ironwood Blitzen (Gjest x SS Saska - Holunder
daughter) for Ironwood Farm. -- I have a feeling I've forgotten somebody,
and if so, I apologise. All of us at Beaver Dam Farm are tremendously
grateful to all these owners for their efforts to represent our grand old
stallion.

This week our trainer, Jaimie Benoit and I will work to be sure we have
photos and DVDs on all our sale horses. Even after an excellent sale season
this summer, we still have a few very nice horses to offer. -- These
include the following . . . .

A yearling stud colt sired by Gjest who just might turn out to be a big-time
winner. His name is FRF BARNIKEL, and this horse certainly has the breeding
to be a great stallion. -- He's sired by GJEST out of the imported Dutch
mare, Ruth, who was sired by MYRSTEIN, an ELITE stallion in Holland. . --
As you'll see for yourself during the Gjest's Presentation, Gjest produces
athletes. Gorgeous horses with superb movement and an incredible work
ethic. -- I w as told that back in 1985 while watching Gjest at the
biggest Fjord show in Holland. One of Gjest's stallion handlers said to me
. . . "Gjest has great movement and great athletic ability. He also has a
tremendous work ethic. He passes these things on to his sons and
daughters." -- Myrstein was a stalliion very much like Gjest. -- He was
built in the same mode. Bob van Bon often said . . . "We just can't find
stalliions like Gjest and Myrstein anymore." -- What he meant was
stallions with strength and bone. Stallions that could work all day and do
it again the next day and the next. -- Stallions with great heart to do the
job. -- Stallions that stayed healthy and strong and fertile into old
ge. -- Those stallions are few and far between nowadays.

FRF BARNIKEL carries these rare genes. He is for sale as a breeding
stallion. -- This is a rare opportunity for one of you to acquire the
possibility of owning a stallion who combines the best of bloodlines on both
sides of the pedigree. -- It's a particularly rare opportunity because the
price isn't overwhelming. The owner, Sheila Tweedie from New Jersey is an
absolutely knowledgeable and dedicated horsewoman. She is more interested
that FRF Barnikel (Barni) go to the right home than she is in any money she
might make from the sale. -- Of course, such a well-bred stud colt is not
going to be given away, but I'm trying to tell everybody that for this
owner, price is not the priority. A stud colt with such a pedigree needs
time to grow up. -- The strength represented in this special pedigree is
not to be taken lightly. -- The combination of genes (Gjest and Myrstein)
could produce a truly spectacular stallion. -- Beaver Dam Farm and Barni's
owners are looking for the right situation for him. This would be a farm or
individual that has the experience and seriousness of purpose to bring on a
young stallion, allowing him to mature, and to eventually prove himself. --
So, if you are that type of person , please come to our stall and talk to
Jaimie and Carol. Come and look at the DVD we'll have available on Barni
and other sale horses.

~~

Other horses we currently have available are --

VALENA, a lovely Flotren daughter. 6 years old. Absolutely as bombproof
and reliable as any horse can be. -- She rides nicely now and is 100% safe
for the most timid beginner rider. -- Valena has the kind of attitude and
temperament that will make her a wonderful driving horse. Valena is a
proven broodmare.

PEVENSIE - a Caspain daughter. Caspain is a son of the elite stallion,
Myrstein. Pevensie is 6 years old and a proven broodmare.-- This is
the easiest horse to ride in the world. She's absolutely dependable on the
trail in a halter with leadropes. She's wonderful bareback. -- You can't
get braver or more laidback than Pevensie.

BRENNING -- 10 yr. old gelding sired by Marnix (Advanced CDE horse) and out
of the gorgeous BDF Jennifer Ann (Gjest x Stine-Ene) -- Bren
