Yes Lisa we did in fact send it back to you ! And of course it just goes to
show what goes around, comes around. So on THAT notewe are getting
MORE snow. It started Thursday afternoon through Saturday. I,m sure Denver
will shut down again ,if it hasn't already. I did manage to get a sleigh
ride in with Katie and my new sleigh bells before the snow started up again
though. I had to dig the gate out just to get it open and get Katie
outwell worth it.

Cheers, from Karen, recently returned to England where it's drizzly and
permanently twilight. Tough transition from a condo on the Indian River in
Titusville, Florida, where the sun dazzled almost every morning and the
manatees and dolphins played in the water.

 Hi List !

**************************

Thought I would write
Another poem
(YES, Im the Santa for Kelly Hoem ! ; )
About the gift I got today
It came from down Missouri way.

It came from a friend
Who had me before !
And gave me a pendant
That I adore

This time she really
Took the cake
And sent me something
She had to bake !

Not in an oven
But made with clay
This time her gift
Just made my day !

It is a pot
With beautiful shine
I cant believe
That it is mine

The FJORD inscribed
Inside the clay
Looks like a photo
Jumping out to play !

How in the world
Did you do that ?
Most peoples pot's
Would get squashed flat !

Im very impressed
With your talent for art
The wrapping was also
Very smart

The mints inside
The FJORDS will get
As soon as the snow
Lets up a bit

So THANK-YOU so much
From me to you !
(So glad my name
Again you drew)

Karen Kathka
You really made my day
When I opened up
This pot of clay !

Hi Everyone,
Happy new year to all.
I wanted to know if anyone has ever had Reiki done on their horses and find
out more about it. I had all three of my horses worked on and they really
seemed to enjoy it. I would love to hear any thoughts or comments or
experiences that you may have had with it.

Hi Linda,

I have done my Reiki 1 and have used it on my horses and dogs and they all
love it. A friend of mine is a Reiki Master and used my stallion as a
guinea pig. As soon as she put her hands on he jumped to the opposite
side of the box and just stared at her! He would accept it from me no
problem and would just stand there with his bottom lip drooping. I did it
every night for around 5 minutes. I was never really sure where to place my
hands as I was taught to do it on humans, so I just went over the whole
body.

Another alternative therapy I would recommend to anyone is Bowen. My kids
pony twisted her back and was visibly sore. The vet didn't offer much other
than painkillers, so I used a Bowen therapist (half thinking it wouldn't
work). After only 2 sessions you could visibly see her topline had taken a
more normal shape and she was not at all sore anymore. I did this routinely
with my stallion after the covering season in case he had twisted anything.

PS Also very warm here, no snow yet. This has been the warmest winter on
record (200 years) here in Sweden, so it seems everywhere is having very
unseasonal weather

2006-12-29 Thread Karen Keith

Hi Linda.

I haven't had Reiki done, but have had HTA (Healing Touch for Animals,
http://www.healingtouchforanimals.com/), which deals with chakras and
healing energy and intent. Both my fjords were used as demo horses for HTA
clinics in Colorado on several occasions. I had the chance to sit on the
outside and watch my horses undergo ministrations.

My horses were just there for the students to learn on, so there was no
particular problem being worked on. But throughout the clinic, I could see
a marked change in the horses' demeanors. They would get a sleepy
expression and you'd see their heads slowly drop down. All this while 4 to
6 students (all strangers) were moving around them clearing their chakras
and fixing their energy flows. For the record, there was no food involved
to get the Fjordies to stand there. :^)

I know my description sounds kind of nutty, but hey, the horses liked it
just fine. And BTW, they don't actually touch the animal while doing a lot
of this, so we're not talking massage or spinal adjustments.

I also had the opportunity to have my wound-up border collie used as a demo
dog. She was in a room full of strangers and strangers' dogs, a situation
that makes her very uncomfortable and nervous. She'd already had a go at
one of the other dogs and had to be kept apart. Carol Komitor worked on my
BC's chakras and her hips with healing energy. Again, I know it sounds
nutty, but I also know what I saw. Here was my defensive BC on the ground
with a stranger and you could see the sleepy expression and relaxation
overcome her. Did it fix the dysplasia? No, of course not. It's not meant
to. But for both the dog and the horses, something went on that they found
pleasant and relaxing.

BTW, I have attended the HTA Level 1 clinic. I bought a certificate at a
silent auction, not knowing what it was. Thought it was something like
T-Touch. I came away less than convinced, at least in my ability to do
this; I think I may just need something a bit more concrete. But the
animals don't come with any baggage or prejudices or expectations, and they
all seem to find HTA a positive experience. That's why I got my Fjordies in
as demo horses as often as I could!

Lastly, I am in England now and have sold my Fjords, but I kept my donkey.
She lives at the barn in Colorado where the HTA clinics are held. I was
told that at the last HTA clinic the students used Daisy as a demo donk, and
she was great with the students. This was a real surprise to me, as Daisy
is usually very wary of strangers, especially if she's mobbed (4-6 students
moving about her precious body). So, although I didn't see it myself, it
sounds like Daisy the Donkey found HTA a positive experience as well.

That's my experience with alternative therapy.

Cheers, from squally Surrey. (Can you tell I miss the Colorado sunshine?
Yes, I know about the snow there, but once the snow stops, you shovel in
dazzling sunlight. Right, Beth, Sandy, Jeanne and Cheryl?)

I offer Healing Touch therapy for animals to my clients. I just started a
home business as a pet sitter and have been taking classes for animal
healing touch.

One of my clients Charlie, QH was responding very well and it kept him
comfortable as he was on his last trail ride ( so to speak ). Charlie had
multiple heart issues which the vets gave him 6 months or less and he kept
comfortable for more the 2 1/2. Than developed a neuroma on his spine and
that was all he could take. He was put down this October after a good life
from a loving owner.

I would highly suggest HTA, Reiki Just make sure that who your working
with listens to your horse.

HI

I want to thank my SS. I enjoyed my gifts. The etched coffee mugs with the
Fjords are beautiful. I wore the vest I received to the Buffalo bills game
on Sun. I also enjoyed watching the DVD's. The purple curry and hoof pick
will match my purple brushes, halter, reins and saddle pad. After seeing
the poster of the Agricultural fair I will have to return and go again my
self next year. I have not been for the last 2 years.

Thank you again and have a wonderful new year.
