For your information - Yenna is on her way also. Her time is coming. She has great movement and wonderful presence. Beth is doing a great job with her. I drove her dam, Mykleblakka, yesterday and can see where Yenna gets part of her talent. Smedsmo is no slouch either. Blue Earth
This message is from: Pat Holland [EMAIL PROTECTED] Nice size classes, well turned out horses and handlers and FRIENDLY, HELPFUL Fjord Owners! Our MWFHC - Blue Earth show went well again this year and I would like to thank everyone for making it so. The one thing that allows me to sleep at night is that not one person nor one horse got hurt, we might have had a few panic/anxiety attacks (mine) and most of us left sunburned - but all in all the show went great. For those of you who attended, Robin, upon arrival at home, made a wonderful CD/PowerPoint with pictures and music of the whole show - beginning with the Welcome to Minnesota state sign - and other additions - like the picture of David Lusty riding in the games classes and sitting on a chair (half asleep) holding his team of super mannered horses. Also great candid pictures of the youths in and out of the ring with everyone with BIG smiles. Anyone who would like a copy let me know and I'll send it to you. I won't be able to do it until the end of the month - I'm getting ready for the Lacrosse Eval and then taking Robin to Kentucky for college. It really was a great show - and I sincerely appreciate every one who came and every one who helped. With respect and gratitude to all, Pat Holland The FjordHorse List archives can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw

FW: RE: Northwest Fjord Horse Show
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] The requirement for health negative coggins for the Northwest Fjord show seems to be causing a lot of grief. One of the ladies on our safety committee called and spoke to someone from the WSDA animal health office yesterday afternoon, below is the information she found out. Having a good health certificate and negative coggins test doesn't prove your horse or anyone elses is going to show up at the show in the same shape they were when tested, but I believe we owe it to each other as owners of very valuable fjord horses to do the best we can to bring healthy horses to any show we go to. I'm sorry if this is causing some of you problems, but as I said in an earlier post, I'd rather error on the side of safety than the other way around. --David VanHoof: show chair for NW Fjord show Funshine Farm Fjords 9222 214th Ave E Bonney Lake, Wa 98391 253-335-8829 -- Forwarded Message: -- From: greta cook [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Northwest Fjord Horse Show Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2007 22:41:16 + David here is the info on Health Certs and Coggins. A negative Coggins test for EIA is required for all equines over the age of 6 months entering WA except from the state of Oregon. The Coggins test is good for 6 months currently. Health Certificates and Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) are basically the same thing. A Health Certificate is issued for 1 month and a CVI for 6 months. WA does not require a Health Cert from OR or ID but those states require one to reenter. Equines from OR, ID, MT, CA are required to have brand inspection papers for transport. WA State Animal Import Laws WAC Chapter 16-54. 16-54-030 is Health Certificates. 16-54-071 is Domestic Equines http://apps.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=16-54 US State Animal Importation Regulations - links to all states. http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/sregs/ I spoke with Kerry at the WSDA Animal Health office this afternoon 360-902-1878 Health Certs and Neg Coggins are one measure we can take to try to assure only healthy animals attend the show. In state and out of state/country animals need to be treated the same. I hope this helps, Greta _ The FjordHorse List archives can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw
Re: FW: RE: Northwest Fjord Horse Show
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This a bit over kill. No other horse show A circuit or ADS sanctioned events in the state of Washington that I have attended require health certificates or coggins for instate horses. It might be a good idea to review some of the other horse shows and events. Competitors have enough expenses as it is. This is a bad idea. I know that this is the first year for this show. Please do more research on shows and how they are run in the State of Washington. We do not need this added expense to show in our own state. State to state or out country travel is understandable, but not this. Good Luck and Please attend some other breed shows that have been working and have a large competitive base. Happy competitors mean more return and revenues to promote the Fjord. And yes the other breeds are quite valuable as well.
