I am so happy for you and your fjord. I found my fjord on the internet from a
breeder and it turned out that she was sick and I couldn't beleive anyone
could ever sell a sick horse to someone that they thought would not know the
difference. I wish every day that Fergie my beautiful fjord and myself would
of had a chance to show my grandbabies what a beautiful bred the fjords are.
Fergie and I did get the chance to bond and love each other before she was
gone. It is always good to hear good things do happen to people. I hope that
people that have heatlhy fjord's appreciate every moment with that special
pony. If you look into your ponies eyes believe what you see because they
really know what is happening around them and if they do give you their love
you are so very blessed. Appreciate every minute. I am happy for you. There
is NOTHING more special than a fjord's love.

PASSPORTS COMING TO A STATE NEAR YOU - (Info from TN website)
posted by Jkarenhaas/FL. Whip/Ocala,FL

Department of Agriculture
Ken Givens, Commissioner
Equine Interstate Movement Permit (Passport)
To help ease the current health certificate restrictions on moving
horses out of state for fairs, exhibitions and trail rides, the
Tennessee Department of Agriculture recently approved our state's
participation in a voluntary regional "passport" program. In the
past, most states required horses to have a current health certificate
(Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) and a current negative EIA test
(Coggins test) prior to entry. Health certificates are only valid for
30 days. Under this new program, a horse owner has the option to
obtain an interstate movement permit, or =93passport,=94 that for travel
among participating states is equivalent to a health certificate, but
is valid for 6 months. While the identification requirements are more
restrictive, the permit allows horse owners to move among
participating states without the need for obtaining a new health
certificate every 30 days. Participating states include Alabama,
Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North
Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Some
states do place added restrictions associated with use of the permit;
horse owners traveling to those states are responsible for compliance
with those additional restrictions. Most states have agreed to =93a
common set of rules=94 that enable the program to operate most
effectively.
Permit applications must be submitted through an accredited
veterinarian. Horse owners in Tennessee interested in obtaining a
permit may complete an application and return it to their veterinarian
along with a copy of an original health certificate (Certificate of
Veterinary Inspection) and a current Equine Infectious Anemia test
result. In many instances, the veterinarian can forward the
application along with his copies of the health certificate and a
Coggins test report if the permit application is being made at the
time the health certificate is issued. Upon receipt, the department
will issue an Interstate Movement Permit that is valid for 6 months
from the date the health certificate was issued. Recognized forms of
animal identification include a unique identifier lip tattoo, a unique
brand, electronic implant or a digital photograph submitted in low
resolution =93jpeg=94 format. Horse owners are also responsible for
keeping an itinerary listing those events in which the horse
participates.
Participation is strictly voluntary provided the owner is compliant
with the terms of the agreement between the state animal health
regulatory agencies. Application and itinerary forms are available
below.

Not shopping for another Fjord, but boy do I like to look. I'm never sure
exactly what it is I like about one horse over another, but I thought this
Tego was just absolutely perfect! Beautiful head and face, and a build
just the way I seem to like them - big and drafty and solid. None of these
sportier types for me!

Our route usually hits the following cities: Madison, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids,
Des Moines, Kansas City, Emporia, Wichita, Pratt.

Our first trip South will be leaving the Madison area on August 6th. The second
will be leaving August 15th.

I've raised Fjords for 18 years, cattle for 4 years, sheep for 3 years, poultry
of all sorts for 14 years, livestock guard dogs for 6 years, and many types of
wildlife since childhood. Although I'm not a vet, I can take care of any minor
injuries, change dressings, give shots, trim hooves, and I can tell when an
animal isn't feeling well. I own 3 stallions and have no issues with handling
the boys. Your animals would be well cared for while in route.
