Buddie is a 18 year old Registered Norwegian Fjord Gelding who stands about
14hh. He is 100% sound and UTD date on worming shots and trimming. This guy
is such a pleasure, he loves people and all the attention he can get! Buddie
is calm and very very gentle, Fjords are well known for this kind of
temperament. Absolutely NO …Buck, Bite, Kick or Rearing!!! He has excellent
ground
manners , and does the clip, long trailer rides, water, shoes, vet checks,
ties
for long periods of time, lunges, saddles standing still, easy to catch etc.
He’s an outstanding mountain trail horse, this is what he loves to do! He
will not hesitate at climbing the tallest mountain, and still have plenty of
go
to finish the trail. He is stout and built like a tank, very sure footed
while maintaining a heavy load, “He was used as a pack horse for several
years”.
He likes to take it slow pretty much anywhere you ride whether it’s the
arena
or trail, he can get on the lazier side. He walks out with no problems or
barn sour attitude, you can leave him in the pasture for days and still have
a
quite ride. Buddie has driving experience and knows the harness routine quite
well and also has been used for a lesson horse for 7-8 yr old children. If
you have any questions just give me a call at 559-709-2750 ask for Tamara. We
are asking $ 2,000.

The black Halloween hair spray paint works really well, but it does take a
while to wear off. We used it last year. The weather was already cool and we
didn't have anywhere important to go, so we didn't try washing it out. It's
supposed to come out with a good shampoo.

My daughter was in a costume class last October for 4-H. We spray painted a
large spider web on Hakon, starting in the saddle area and spreading out. My
daughter wore black pants and a black turtleneck, black gloves and her velvet
helmet. We made 4 extra legs out of black tights stuffed with pillow
stuffing and pinned them to the daughter's sides. She was a spider sitting in
her
web. Super quick and easy.

Hi, all--

My husband Tom and I have spent the last month moving across town and
finally bringing our three Fjord geldings home! It has been an amazing,
exhausting
and humbling experience. Now that the dust is starting to settle, I would
love to come up with a farm name, but haven't hit upon the right one yet.
Here is some basic info:

-14 flat acres with great pasture, simple barn, wooded trails and a stream
-Three Fjord geldings, two brown, one grey: they are simply for pleasure,
trail riding and beginning driving--no breeding or showing
-Two dogs, a Pug and a Lab, one cat
-We have three little boys, ages 11, 8 and 5
-My husband is an Internal Medicine physician
-I am a stay-at-home mom and all living things around me are MALE

I would love to find a name that is personal, unpretentious and combines
something about the boys or the Fjords...even a cute equestrian or medical
term.
Some that we have considered are:

Portly Pony Farm
Equine-imity
Something involving three (for sons and geldings)
Fjord Fields

Thanks for any suggestions!

Anyway, I'm posting now because we are reluctantly offering a Circle Y
Draft
Saddle for sale. When we purchased Hakon, we also purchased his saddle with
him. It fits him beautifully, but is just too big for my daughter who rides
him. It's a 17 inch saddle and hasn't been used much. It comes with a
breastcollar and back-cinch. Hakon is 15 hands and drafty, but not overly
so.

We recently purchased a filly at auction from an Amish family - The Willie
Lehman family, who own Crystal Valley Acres in Indiana. They brought beautiful
haflinger out here to California for the sale. They were wonderful to talk
to and happy to help us learn before the sale. We are so happy with the little
two year old filly that we bought. You can see some of their haflingers on

broken bits have a nut cracker effect for these horses, that fjords have a
need for a larger than average size ( 5" ) things started to click. I found
a short shanked low port curb 5 1/2" and man did that change things : ))!!!
His head set instantly and the pleasure trot is coming along nicely! I
wouldn't trade this bit for nothing. Best part is I found it at state line
tack and paid only 19.95 for it, and it really looks nice ( enough for the

what I read and it worked! Very happy western pleasure rider : ))

Hi Everyone~
I am new to this digest due to the fact that I am seriously thinking about
purchasing a Fjord for dressage competition. I will primarily be "lurking"
since I don't have much to contribute but a lot to learn about these
beautiful creatures!

A little about me~ I live in Central California, took up dressage after a 30
year layoff (which makes me 51), love the smaller horses (closer to the
ground at my age is better!), ride with my 12 year old daughter at a local
barn, own a "hot" 17 yr old Anglo/Arab and 15 yr old quarterhorse.

Thanks for letting me read your interesting posts!

this horse? We have had him since November, but don't know his history. He is

other fjords around here.
