Having shown in the QH shows, the same procedures were used. While one event

My Granddad used his Draft horses in Ohio, and they can get some brutal
weather there. Family to feed, he got it done.
I am hoping to attend the next big Fjord event. I might bring my Regn and
just mosy around, watch all the happenings.
Oh, I do want to comment on stress levels. Even the sweetest, gentlest human

Christine,
The Fjord is a wonderful, intelligent breed. As with any breed the
knowledge of the handler is very important. There is no guarantee that a Fjord
is
the perfect horse for a beginner. Fjords are highly intelligent! If there is a
farm located near you, that has Fjords maybe you can take some lessons and
come to understand the Fjord breed. You will not be disappointed . Also people
that are involved in Fjords are just about the nicest folks you will ever
meet.
Have fun.

We went to the fair to watch the Fjord being represented by Kathy Kramer of
Gavilan Hills. She ground drove her geldings Istus and Elfin in their new
work harness. It was a beautiful site. Kathy and "the boys" did a great job.
The announcer also did a good job of informing the crowd of all the wonderful
attributes of the Norwegian Fjord. Kathy had a friend "trot" behind them with
the Norwegian flag. That was a very nice touch. People came into the stable
area to see the Fjords and course they were perfectly behaved. Way to go
Kathy!!!

Lisa,
Sorry to hear your story. I know the feeling. I just got my cast off my leg
on Monday after 7 weeks. My QH stepped on my foot and fractured it in 2
places. Man did it hurt but I rode home, after first stopping at Kathy Kramer's

for some wine. Did not dare take my boot off! I hope to be back in the saddle
at
weeks end. Can't keep a good cowgirl down. Regn is looking forward to Mommy
be up and about again (Regn is my Fjord).
Take care, be patient, it will take some time and that time will drive you
crazy. I did read about 2 books and played many computer games.
With sympathy,
