Re: fjordhorse-digest V2007 #4
This message is from: "gillgables _" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> A suggestion for Oz and his person re: plastic bag boogie monsters...I tied plastic bag handles together and strung them down the side of my draft cross Scooby's run. He had to walk past them to get to his feed etc. Once that was a non-issue we progressed to bag-ropes across the run, from the rafters, hanging over the feed bin, tied to bucket handles. Anywhere I could think of. In no time Scooby has become oblivious to bags except to wonder "If there's a bag there must be feed!" Note: Bags are easily torn and never once did Scooby become entangled by them. They break down quickly in the sun so be sure to replace them before they fly away and become litter. _ Communicate instantly! RE: Libby - from my perspective
This message is from: "gillgables _" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Thank you for describing in such detail the highlights from Libby. My husband and I have tried in vain to get to Libby for the past couple years so hearing about it is greatly appreciated. Maybe next year in person! PLEASE post as many pictures as possible...us "wanna-bes" never get enough pics of the Fjords in action! And congratulations to all who won and all who participated! Susan Gill (dreamin' of Fjords in Oklahoma)
Re: dragging hind feet and introduction
This message is from: "gillgables _" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> My Belgian cross ex-therepy horse was real clumsy...until I started putting obsticles in his run! Poles, small cross bars, stumps, plastic bags tied together etc. He learned to watch where he is going, pick up his feet etc with no help from me. (bags strung across the run will break away easily. Not a chance of getting tangled up in them). Getting to the grain bucket and hay bag was enough incentive for him! This also works with horses who won't cross water. Just lay out and anchor a tarp with a couple ground poles, run a trickle or water across it and you have an instant water hazard! Doesn't take long to completely desensitize them to the feel and sound of both tarp and water! Susan @gillgables
Re: Feeding Fjords, again
This message is from: "gillgables _" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Dear Mr. Stockwell... I have recieved several E mails intended forthe Fjord folks by mistake. Don't know if it's their internet provider or what, but wanted you to know your E did not get to it's intended recipient. I would LOVE to own a Fjord but can't find any here in Oklahoma . Being from WA state originally and Norwegian to boot, on both sides! I've always dreamed of owning a Fjord or two. I periodically check the Fjord sites which may explain how my E has gotten into the system. Who knows. Respectfully, Susan Gill [EMAIL PROTECTED]
