My very nice Aunt sent us some avocados. So what do I do with them
besides make spread or use them on a salad?
Make a nice chicken soup, add a squirt of lime to it and dice avocado on top.
It's a Mexican soup and very, very good. Avocados are very high fat, so go
lightly if you need to. For recipes go to epicurious.com and put in avocados.

Cheryl,
this is the way we ate avocados in England, as part of the salad course.
They call them 'Alligator Pears!

Hi Carol .. my husband -- who was born in the Loire Valley in France, says
that the only solution for avocados is .. oil and vinegar with a bit of
mustard and some oregano/thyme sprinkled on top. For that matter, he puts
the same mixture on just about everything .. but it is delicious.. halve
them, remove the stone, and fill the cavities with the oil mixture and let
sit at room temperature for 20 minutes and they are delicious! but
fattening! My cousins in South Africa have the fattest labradors I have
ever seen .. they vacuum up all the fallen fruit in the backyard, and this
is the result!

A surplus in Wisconsin? Wow! Have her send them right on by, to New
Hampshire. We have a perpetual avocado shortage. Could we trade snow for
it?

Being in Mexico two years ago, I thought the best thing was the 10 cent
avocados, with the limes to go with them.

How do you go about getting a California relative like that?
