I lived just south of Albuquerque, about 100 yards from the Rio Grande. And
no matter how hard we tried those centipedes always found their way into the
house! My friend who still lives in Santa Fe does see the occasional
centipede (she's the one who taught me to be frightened of them).

Never saw a tarantula while in New Mexico, but got my fill of them while
living in the hills in Malibu. Ugh. But not as bad as centipedes! :)

  You must have lived in the valley. Up on the mesa tarantulas rule,
  absolutely no skeeters. And so far as I know, no centipedes and the
  grasshoppers starve.

 The difference between a policy and a crusade is that a policy is
 judged by its results, while a crusade is judged by how good it makes
 its crusaders feel. --Thomas Sowell

Carol;

Move south???you may be right!! This move is fueled by my husband
who loves to ice fish, snow shoe, hunt winter wildlife, cross country ski,
etc.so, he has promised me an indoor arena one day soon and it will
be heated:) My entire family lives within 40 miles of our new home or I
would not be so agreeable:)

Only thing about the south are those darn BIG bugs:)
