saving some for a list member's or fjord owner's rainy day. I want to

An archive would be a collection of all the list messages ever sent. A
searchable archive is where you can type in a word or phrase and it will
display all the list messages that contain that word or phrase.

So if you knew that someone posted a message about, say, beet pulp, you
can type that phrase in and it will show you all the messages that talk
about beet pulp. That way you don't have to worry about saving a list
message that you may need someday, because you can always go back to the
archive and find it later.

The carriage driving list has a really nice searchable archive at

Regarding the ads that everyone has been mentioning...the ads are very small.
OneLists ads are at the end of the email and you are never forced to see
them. Personally I barely notice them now. When I do notice them it is an
ad for another popular list on OneList. Then at the very end you get the
same header/sender garbage that you get on all internet mail. So really I
can't see the point of being concerned about the ads...they are FAR less
noticeable than the ones on websites. They aren't popups either.

Dear Steve,

I feel a little embarrassed to find out that you have been footing the bill
for all of OUR enjoyment.

Personally, Lois and I would be glad to contribute towards a non-advertising
list. However, to keep those of the group who could not/would not
contribute, the move to a small advertising blurb at the bottom list should
be acceptable to most all.

I would prefer a non advertising list, but would rather have the group
intact.as some would drop out should a charge/contribution situation
arise.

Lastly, It's YOUR list and we are your guests here. Do as YOU see fit. I
trust your judgement.

I don't mind ads. Am willing to pay too. This list is worth it. I've
subscribed to some ONE LIST lists and the ad at the bottom is no big deal at
all. If ONE LIST is the source of the how to get rich quick schemes I get
every so often (I presume my e-mail address has been harvested from
somewhere - someone was doing this with the CD-List for a while) I don;t
like them, but can live with them. So... whatever you decide. You should
not have to pay. I would think even collecting funds from list subscribers,
depositing the checks, etc, would be a major hassle to you - so maybe the
ads are easier overall.
