That's the place I got mine from, and it is 40" not 48".
It's good quality
and sturdy. The prices have gone up only a little considering...

I have a 48" ball that is a bladder with a fabric cover- like a cage ball.
I don't remember the company I ordered it from, but it is VERY durable, and,
at the time (about 2 yrs ago), was only $50! Last winter we used it
for couple of fun nights with a large group of horses, and it did just
fine. It was no longer pristinely CLEAN, but it did the job! We also used
the balance balls that those humans who are into that sort of thing use for
exercise, and they did well too. I threw one of the 24" balance balls out
into the pasture to desensitize my horses and the only thing that really
damaged it was the sun.

Hi, Gail--

I got a great horse ball from sporttogo.com...it is an animal training ball
that is also used for zoo and circus animals and is pretty indestructible.
You can get them with a variety of really cute washable covers, and I think
that I paid about $100. To get an idea of size, look at my Clyde's picture on
the NFHR website and there is a picture on his registration of the ball
balanced on his head.

Let me know if you need more info...good luck!

Gail.I don't have a source but at the National Fjord Show in Winnona MN
there was a demo using a large ball that you describe. I know search and
rescue organizations also use the large balls for their training.
