Thank you for Secret Santa gift

Debbie:

We just received your package (12-16-05). Thank you so much for the plate.
It arrived in perfect condition. You pack very well. It is a good thing that
it arrived in perfect condition, because if it hadn't, my husband and I would
have sat down and cried because it is so beautiful. The plate has a perfect
setting with our other Fjord memorbilia.

As to your other questions, we have two fjords, a mare, FHU Lena who is 8 and
a gelding, FHU Eric who is 5. We love our fjords and ride and drive both of
them. We don't show, we just grin because they are so great.

Thanks again for your perfect gift.

Our Secret Santa - Sher in Colorado - supplied us with homemade horse
treats. Willow, Sydney (Kristi) and Jazzman give them 4 hooves up!
Apparently they are delicious and I have the recipe to those and many
more. I am sure the horses hope I will be as thoughtful as Sher was and
bake many more! Thanks!

"...Are you on the right list??? I believe the S S is on the CDL???
However, might be others..."

Yep, Jerry - am on the right list. :-) *Many* list on the net have a
SS each year. I hosted the SS for the PapFriends list last year, and was a
participant on the FjordHorse list's SS. :-)

"...the Fjordhorse list has had "Secret Santa" also..Cynthia Madden headed
it up last year I think..."

Yep, I do believe she was the host for the SS here, last year. She did a
great job!

"...that would be awsome to ahve it! How would we do it though?..."

First - someone volunteers and is approved the list owner to host the SS.
At least - that's how it's been done on other lists, so am geussing same here.
;-)Then the host posts a guidelines to the list. The list members
send (usually a private email, not to the list) their information to the host.
At the deadline for entries date, the host then matches up all who sent in
an entry, to another list member. Works out that each "giver" is then a
"receiver" - so no one gets left out. When I hosted the PapFriends SS last
year
- we had one odd member, so I sent out two gifts, so that person was not left
out. Sometimes the SS person chooses to stay annonimous - sometimes it's a
fun geussing game to see if one recognizes the clues of who their SS was.
Varies from list SS to list SS. That's about all there is to it - LOTS of fun!

Hello, again, folks!

Thought I'd post the question again - as have not heard back from the list -
was wondering...

Is anyone hosting the Secret Santa (gift swap) this year? Am geussing this
is about the time to begin organizing it, if all the participants will have
time to gift shop for their Secret Santas.

I truely enjoyed being part of the SS last year - hoping it happens again
this year!

If no one is planning to host the SS for this year - I'd be happy to
volunteer to do it. I've organized SS's in the past. It's a lot of work - but
well
worth it. Everyone seems to always have such a good time. :-)

My Secret Santa's gift arrived today! And I guessed right, my SS was Lisa
Pederson. What a cool gift Lisa! I got a custom made Fjord calendar
featuring "Pederson's Fjords". Wonderful pictures with a note written for
each one telling me about the fjord and people in the pictures. I love it!
Thank you!!

And no worries about it being late. It was great coming home today and
finding another present to open.

Jeri and Nicky,

Do you guys board or are your horses at home? The arena comment made it
sound like you board. Why do they close up the barn?

I got my Secret Santa gift yesterday and the address gave my Santa away!
But, I thought we were suppose to wait to open it I am hoping to
strike a real friendship with Susan and her daughter Whitney. After
Sandpoint and the "Land of the Fjords" we (Nicky and I) feel like we are in
No Where Land.

Jeri in Missouri where the barn has closed for the winter? Really, its
okay because now we don't have to fight for the arena!!

Am I the first to get my Secret Santa Gift? Wouldn't that be a kick, all
the way up here in Fairbnaks, Alaska, but it came today and the name on the
envelope was "Stai" from San Antonio, Tex. I forget the first nameis
that Debbie?

Anyway thank you for the Linda Tellington Jones book, lots of color
photograhs and interesting things to do with your horse. Now I have to
impatiently wait until the weather gets warmer so I can do some of these
things.(Temp has dropped to -20 this afternoon.)

I got my package sent yesterday to someone south of me...But hey, You're
ALL south of me! Hope the things I sent will be handy on the trail!

Jean in Fairbanks, Alaska, where the sky cleared and let all the warmth
leak out and it has cooled off. Come on, cloud up and snow!
