This message is from: "Lois Anne Starr" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi All: Congratulations to everyone with baby announcements and my condolences to those who have lost beloved friends. Wendy requested these links be forwarded to the list. They are for the Glory bits that were discussed last fall. One style has the butterfly, the other link has two types of driving bits, one with fixed cheeks, the other swivels. I have to admit I had no idea that horse tack was available on Amazon.com. I have also picked up a low port mullen w/ barrel bit made by Myler that seems to be well liked. This message is from: "Jean Gayle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Debby re riding dressage and bits. Be sure to check that your full cheek is acceptable in lower level classes if that is where you are starting. Would be difficult to change bits for a class if she is not used to it. My pony is quite strong > when just walking with the halter ... We use a KK French Link for riding, and Glory Butterfly bit for driving. Both work well for us. If she is strong on the halter, try using a chain over her nose and train her to respond to light signals -- she will remember this when riding/driving. You don't want to let her get in the habit of leaning on you or dragging you around on the ground. Lori

This message is from: Debby Stai <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> As a new owner of a Fjord, I would like to ask what kind of bits everyone rides and drives their Fjords with. My pony is quite strong when just walking with the halter, I haven't ridden or driven her yet because of her leg, but I'm curious if they tend to be very strong undersaddle. She does walk and pay more attention to me when walking in a bridle with a frenchlink loosering. I'm leaning towards a frenchlink, fullcheek. I will do dressage with her. Thanks. Debby
