Horse transporters
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Forwarding a message from Linda Taylor, Lisa, a little help please. I want to respond to the Fjord Digest but don't see how to do it. The transporter question. I used All State and they were fine and highly recommended. They brought Boombah from Colorado to Cal at a competitive price and I was pleased with their service. Nationwide was not recommended. Hope this helps. Cheerio, Linda The FjordHorse List archives can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw
Re: horse transporters I've found
This message is from: Warren Stockwell [EMAIL PROTECTED] I find it interesting that no one knows one of our own is a transport service. Baileys Norwegian Fjords has lots of experience transporting horses. I have nothing but good experiences to report in my dealings with Dan and Lynda. Very honest, up front, and do their level best to keep on schedule, knowing that things do happen to effect this. I haven't actually used any of them yet but I do have a couple of phone numbers. Anderson Horse Transportation (Ashland NE) I-800-255-2796 Hubbard Horse Transport (WA) 1-800-317-6768 Drexler Horse Transportation (Hampshire IL) 1-800-262-4464 Bateman Horse Transport (NY) 1-800-933-4323 The second and fourth specialize in east-west transport. The first and third are, at least, in your neighborhood. Hope this helps. Kay Van Natta Yellow Pony Farm SE MI

This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Does anyone have any suggestions for horse transporters. We are looking for a ride for a horse from Nebraska to Tennessee. NationWide Horse Transporters was a suggestion, but I promised I would try to come up with a few suggestions. If any of you have used a transporter and been happy with their service, please email me. Thanks, Janice in Nebraska

This message is from: Karen McCarthy [EMAIL PROTECTED] Original Message Follows From: Cynthia Madden [EMAIL PROTECTED] I used All State, based in Colorado Springs, when I moved Tank and Keyah to Las Cruces. I was highly pleased with their service and care. Ditto here. I had sent in a message about Allstate immediatly after Peg's initial query, but it somehow was absorbed into the Hotmail e-stomach and did not exit onto this List. We had a client ship out (2) horses from NH, a Fjord and a not-so-robust QH, and they arrived in fine shape. I was impressed w/ how both the dispatcher and driver kept in touch with us, and the horses actually arrived right on time. Just a co-incidence, but my S.O., Dave used to work for them, but for the former owners. He said the new Allstate has considerably improved. _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.

This message is from: Cynthia Madden [EMAIL PROTECTED] I used All State, based in Colorado Springs, when I moved Tank and Keyah to Las Cruces. I was highly pleased with their service and care. The driver was actually a retired pediatric nurse - a real caretaker! The horses arrived in fine shape and enjoyed a few days vacation in Colorado Springs during layover. Boy, were they surprised when they arrived on the desert mesa! From the cornfields to the mountains to the mesa! I do recommend them. = Cynthia Madden Las Cruces, NM [EMAIL PROTECTED]

This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Peg I've seen homemade bit warmers made of a large can over an electric light bulb and you hand the bit on the can. Not sure how safe it is to do that but it did work. I just put the whole bridle under my coat while I'm tacking up and it's nice and warm when it's time to put it in. Robyn in MD

Re: Horse Transporters
This message is from: Karen McCarthy [EMAIL PROTECTED] Peg, we had someone ship out 2 horses from New Hampshire to or place here Carson City a couple of years ago via Allstate they get high marks from me. (One of the horses was a fjord.) The driver dispatcher were in constant communication w/ us throughout the horses arrived here at this end very tired, but in good overall shape. I also have a very good friend who used to work for them, and compared to most commercial haulers, they are pretty good. Re. bit warmers, I just hang whatever bridle(s) I will be using that day outside on the south wall of our barn, or if its really cold, in the south facing window. Bits warm up for me OK like this. Barring that, what about using a small heating pad? Get a smallish one just hang it over the bit from where it hangs in your tackroom, or just fold the bit(s) you will be using into the pad? Hope this helps! Karen in VERY cold, but sunny N. Nevada (good bit weather |:~) _ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
Horse Transporters
This message is from: Knutsen Fjord Farm [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi all - We need to transport a horse from the Colorado Springs area to Ellensburg. Our usual hauler, Horsin' Around, doesn't serve that area. They mentioned Nationwide and All States. Anyone had any experience with them or know of any others? Thanks in advance. Rode Erlend and Sadie yesterday for the first time since before Christmas. All 3 of us seem to had had too many Christmas cookies. Either that, or the cinch [and my belt] have mysteriously shrunk. I have heard of this sort of occurance before - Phil Petty claimed to have a saddle with the same problem. I am also looking for an electric bit-warmer. My short search last night on Google and Dogpile did not turn up anything except stories about things getting a bit warmer... Help!
