Why don't you use the Yahoo maps which already support Flash and Flex

localconnection to speak to your Flash 8 map from Flex 2. This is how
I accomplished mapping at StatPods.com

Hi Duccio,

As you said, your component is centered around 0,0.
For your effect to work properly, you need to simulate
the registration point with modifying the x and y
postions of the component. The current version of AP
1.05 doesn't support a setRegistrationPoint method of
Rotation. But the Scale class provides one. You could
listen to the onUpdate event of Rotation and modify
the x and y positions in your onUpdate listener. Look
into the source code of Scale for more information
about how to simulate a registration point. BTW: The
registration point implementation in Scale was a
contribution from Ben Jackson and here are other
contributions from Robert Penner and Darron Schall:
http://www.iterationtwo.com/cgi-bin/mt-comments.cgi?entry_id=73

This is the kind of functionality the upcomming Flex
Effects Framework ( announced here
http://www.richinternetapps.com/archives/000108.html )
will provide for you.

Best,
Alex

a) Can we include a timeline based animation (with

b) Can we embed inside a flex action script class a

[flexcoders] problems with dropShadow

2005-04-27 Thread Duccio Del Ministro

Hi,
i have a problem with dropShadow inside a component.
In my class contructor i added an event listener:

addEventListener( "mouseDown",
Delegate.create(this,myMouseDownHandler) );

My event listener (located in the same class) looks
like this:

public function myMouseDownHandler(event) : Void
{
setStyle("borderColor",0xff);
setStyle("backgroundColor",0xff);
setStyle("borderThickness",3);
setStyle("shadowDistance",0);
setStyle("dropShadow",false);
setStyle("borderSides","left top right bottom");
}
Well, when the mouseDown event is fired i see the
borderSides appear but no changes made by borderColor,
backgroundColor, dropShadow, shadowDistance
properties. Why?

  Yes. Currently, it's indended to use AnimationPackage only
  in ActionScript 2.0 classes or the MXML Script tag. Here's a quick example for
  a Script tag.

  i.e. a creationComplete event handler could call the
  method runAnimation. Basically all the supplied examples of the HTML
  documentation stay the same.Best,Alex-Original

I'm trying to use the class mx.graphics.Rect to design
a rectangle inside a component that extends from

get a compilation warning: "The member, myBorder,

Re: [flexcoders] problem with TileList

2005-04-15 Thread Duccio

Thanks Kristopher,
i was trying with img.source so i did
that mistake. I have already done the correction but the problem is that i
don't see images yet. I see the items added to TileList and they're selectable
but with no image in it.  If  i use cellRenderer and dataProvider of
TileList everything's ok.

  Duccio,

  I think the problem is this line:

    img.load=data.thumb;

  You are using "load" as if it were a settable property,
  but it is actually a method of the the Image class and would therefore be used
  with the following syntax:

    img.load(data.thumb)

  Alternately, you could set the "source" property of the
  img object to achieve the same result:

  img.source = data.thumb

Some web browsers allow you to go full screen, but it
mostly depends
on the user's preferences. You'll have to use
(possible
browser-specific) JavaScript to achieve this (look on
Google).

RE: [flexcoders] flex and javascript

2005-04-07 Thread Duccio Del Ministro

I know there have been many requests regarding flex
file uploader. I hope to see soon this feature and if
it's not a problem, i have some question about what
you have in mind:
will this new feature support multiple file upload?
will it have support for image preview?
When are you planning to release it?
Sorry for all that questions but file uploading is
really important for the application i'm working on.
Thanks

Its technote talking about " File Upload in Flex/Flash

You can notify Flex back from javascript using
FlashObject.setVariable("var", "value");

Where FlashObject is id/name of Object/Embed tag in

Re: [flexcoders] Flex 1.5 price in euro

2005-03-25 Thread Duccio Del Ministro

Regards
Duccio
