Hi Duccio,

As you said, your component is centered around 0,0.
For your effect to work properly, you need to simulate
the registration point with modifying the x and y
postions of the component. The current version of AP
1.05 doesn't support a setRegistrationPoint method of
Rotation. But the Scale class provides one. You could
listen to the onUpdate event of Rotation and modify
the x and y positions in your onUpdate listener. Look
into the source code of Scale for more information
about how to simulate a registration point. BTW: The
registration point implementation in Scale was a
contribution from Ben Jackson and here are other
contributions from Robert Penner and Darron Schall:
http://www.iterationtwo.com/cgi-bin/mt-comments.cgi?entry_id=73

This is the kind of functionality the upcomming Flex
Effects Framework ( announced here
http://www.richinternetapps.com/archives/000108.html )
will provide for you.

Best,
Alex

[flexcoders] custom components questions

2005-05-03 Thread Duccio Del Ministro
Hi,
i've read all the documentation and done all the
examples about flex and flash custom components. I
have some questions now:

a) Can we include a timeline based animation (with
transictions, effects and actionscript)inside a symbol
in a flash for flex custom component? Known
limitations?

b) Can we embed inside a flex action script class a
swf's symbol that has timeline based animations (with
transictions, effects and actionscript) in it?

c) Is there an example of a flex/flash custom
component with timeline animations?

Thanks

[flexcoders] problems with dropShadow

2005-04-27 Thread Duccio Del Ministro

Hi,
i have a problem with dropShadow inside a component.
In my class contructor i added an event listener:

addEventListener( mouseDown,
Delegate.create(this,myMouseDownHandler) );

My event listener (located in the same class) looks
like this:

public function myMouseDownHandler(event) : Void
{
setStyle(borderColor,0xff);
setStyle(backgroundColor,0xff);
setStyle(borderThickness,3);
setStyle(shadowDistance,0);
setStyle(dropShadow,false);
setStyle(borderSides,left top right bottom);
}
Well, when the mouseDown event is fired i see the
borderSides appear but no changes made by borderColor,
backgroundColor, dropShadow, shadowDistance
properties. Why?

Some web browsers allow you to go full screen, but it
mostly depends
on the user's preferences. You'll have to use
(possible
browser-specific) JavaScript to achieve this (look on
Google).

You can notify Flex back from javascript using
FlashObject.setVariable(var, value);

Where FlashObject is id/name of Object/Embed tag in
HTML

Subject: [flexcoders] flex and javascript

Hi,
i've some difficult questions. Is there a way to
communicate between flex and javascript? I need from a
flex application to open a new ie window that contains
a file uploader. Can i notify flex application that
the uploader has finished its job? I'm also wondering
if in macromedia.com there are some examples or
documents.
Thanks for your help

RE: [flexcoders] flex and javascript

2005-04-07 Thread Duccio Del Ministro

I know there have been many requests regarding flex
file uploader. I hope to see soon this feature and if
it's not a problem, i have some question about what
you have in mind:
will this new feature support multiple file upload?
will it have support for image preview?
When are you planning to release it?
Sorry for all that questions but file uploading is
really important for the application i'm working on.
Thanks
Duccio

 To answer your other question, there is currently
 nothing in the Dev Apps book on using JavaScript in
 Flex. But, for the next version of Flex, Ive
 already added a chapter on JavaScript - Flex and
 Flex - JavaScript interaction based on all the
 comments on this group.

 Actually, if it pleases the group, maybe some can
 suggest additional topics for that chapter. Here's
 what I have so far:

 Using query string parameters
 Using flashVars
 Calling JavaScript functions from Flex
  - getURL
  - fscommand
 Accessing Flex variables from JavaScript (basically,
 the setVariable method mentioned below)

 Thanks,

2005-03-25 Thread Duccio Del Ministro

Maybe you don't know that $ 12,000 today are about
9,264.97 euro. That mean about 55% increase. I am sure
there is a reason, maybe the costs for the support...

 I think that VAT has nothing to do with the tag

 will add to the tag price... Maybe for non-US
 markets the costs to sell/support this product is a
 little bit higher and it's reflected in the final
 price
