Re: [flexcoders] Flex Builder Debug Issue --- RESOLVED

2008-07-07 Thread jonese
OK the problem was in my browser. I found a closed bug on adobe's bug
tracker talking about how some plugins like greasemonky and FF3 can
cause issues becuase of a bug in FF3. (should be fixed in 3.01).

I didn't have greasemonkey installed so i shut off all my plugins and
tried it again. It worked without issue. So i slowly began turning the
plugins back on and found the culprit for me was the google toolbar.
Great FF3 is fixed.

Did the same thing in IE and the culprit there was the google gears
plugin NOT the google toolbar (interesting)..

I commented on the "resolved" ticket but who knows if anyone will
actually see that.

Here's the adobe ticket if your interested:
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-13064

Thanks to all who chimed in and helped out. Guess I'm not joining the
circus today!

we have symantec anti virus running on our corporate network and it
has been running like this from day one.

I've completely blown away my eclipse 3.3.x installation. downloaded a
new copy of eclipse 3.3.2 and installed that. Then re-ran the FB3
installer.

everything installs fine. code runs fine will talk to my CF Server
etc. BUT the debugging will not connect.

is there something maybe in IIS that could have gotten messed up????

It fails in both Firefox 3 & IE7 so i'm pretty sure it's not related
to plug-ins. my IE is VERY vanilla.

Hey all my flex debugger has stopped working. I've done the following
trying to fix it

* I've uninstalled flash using the adobe uninstaller.
* Rebooted my machine.
* Downloaded the latest debugger from adobe's website.
* Install latest flash debug player.
* Verified via Adobe KB that i have the latest version and it is a
debugger version.
* Tried to run debug for a basic flex applicaiton in both FF3 and IE7
both failed.

Any thoughts what could be wrong?

[flexcoders] Flex Builder & Create CFC based on AS class

2008-06-17 Thread jonese
Hey all!

I have this basic AS Class i created in FB3

package com.nucleusclient.gap.vo
{
import com.asfusion.mate.actions.DataCopier;
[RemoteClass(alias="com.nucleusclient.gap.vo.vo_ReferenceRecord")]
[Bindable]
public class vo_ReferenceRecord extends Object
{
private var _referenceRecordID:uint = new uint();
public function vo_ReferenceRecord()
{
//TODO: implement function
super();
}

// _referenceRecordID
public function set
referenceRecordID(referenceRecordID:uint):void{
_referenceRecordID = referenceRecordID;
}
public function get referenceRecordID():uint{
return _referenceRecordID;
}
}
}

When i right click on it and do ColdFusion Wizards >> Create CFC based
on AS class and follow the wizard to generate a CFC all i get is this:

//Initialize the CFC with the default properties values.

Why won't it also generate my private vars and all my functions? Is
this a bug, a feature or an oversight?

Fwd: [flexcoders] Re: AdvancedDataGrid preserve openItems after data update

2008-05-05 Thread jonese
OK here's what i did to keep my nodes open.

un my update function i call preventDefault() to stop the expected operations.

then i manually build using updated data my object instances
then search the original objects till i find my matching object
overwrite the orginial object with the new instance
then run a refresh() on the dataprovider.

This appears to be working for me and it is having the expected
results.so far :)

[flexcoders] Cannot convert Object to X

2008-04-29 Thread jonese
Hey all,

i have a function which takes in an Event. I then grab the
currentTarget.selectedItem which is an Object.

I need to turn this Object into a specific Value Object i created
called vo_Task.

I tried:
var thisItem:vo_Task = e.currentTarget.selectedItem;

and get the error:
"TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert
[EMAIL PROTECTED] to com.nucleusclient.roadmap.vo.vo_Task."

I tried
var thisItem:vo_Task = e.currentTarget.selectedItem as vo_Task;

but that just passes in a BLANK vo_Task

The properties of the currentTarget.selectedItem are identical (as far
as i can tell) to what should be found in a vo_Task.

Any ideas?

Hey all. I'm using ilog's Elixir for a gantt chart and I've got the

I know it's an ADG derivative but I'm not sure what i need to do in
order to get the groups to open back up after a refresh. I know with a
tree control i can grab the open items store them in a var and then
reapply them after refresh.

Anyone provide similar guidance for an ADG and more possibly for the
Elixir Gantt??
