[flexcoders] How to set a progress bar while Remote Object data loading

2006-06-20 Thread wujunjr
Hi all,

We set busyCursor to true while Remote Object data loading. The
cursor become a little clock during that time.

But is it possible to show a progress bar somewhere to indicate the
Data Loading process?

Thanks in advance,

John

Right then. Good answer. You'll want to write your own
custom
itemSkin.

1. write a custom class that extends FlexDisplayObject
2. it should optionally implement iDataObject. If it does,
it's
dataObject property will be assigned an instance of a
  ColumnSeriesItem
(or some other type, based on the series type).
3. override updateDisplayList. Fill your bounding rectangle
(0,0,unscaledWidth, unscaledHeight) with a nice pattern.
4. assign the 'itemSkin' style of the ColumnSeries to be your
 new
  custom
skin class.
5. If you want to get fancy, you could write your skin to
 define
  a new
style that controls what pattern it should render, how to
 render
  it,
etc. in your updateDisplayList function, if you call getStyle
 (),
  you'll
get style values defined either on your custom skin class, or
 on
  the
enclosing series class.

I don't remember what part of this is implemented in the
 currently
public alpha, but I'm sure this will work in the next public
  release.

Ely.

   Subject: [flexcoders] Chart printing options

   I'm creating print views for some online reports we're working
on.  In

   the online versions we have some nice colored bars on our
charts.
   This looks great online but it isn't an ideal solution for
printing.
   What I'd like to do is create a custom pattern fill to be used
in the
   chart's print view. Anyone have any ideas how I can do this?

   I've looked at the IFill interface as it showed promise by it's
name
   but the docs for it are empty.

   If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it.

   Thanks
   Kent

[flexcoders] Re: different color and shape in one plot chart

2006-02-23 Thread wujunjr
Problem fixed. Here is the code. It seems a little stupid but it
works. var colors value is same with the value in chart series
render, so we can get the same color.

  mx:Legend dataProvider={countryList} initialize=initLegend()
direction=horizontal markerHeight=5 markerWidth=5 width=100%/

  function initLegend() {
  var fill : SolidColor;
  var stroke : Stroke = new Stroke(0x001100);
  var label : String;
  var keyItems = new Array();
  var colors =
[0x55,0x66,0x77,0x88,0x99,0xAA,0xBB,0xCC00
00,0xDD,0xEE,0xFF,

0x005500,0x006600,0x007700,0x008800,0x009900,0x00AA00,0x00BB00,0x00CC0
0,0x00DD00,0x00EE00,0x00FF00,

0x55,0x66,0x77,0x88,0x99,0xAA,0xBB,0xC
C,0xDD,0xEE,0xFF];
  for (var i = 0; i  csaRO1.getElements.result.length;
i++) {
  fill = new SolidColor(colors[i]);
  keyItems[i]={label:csaRO1.getElements.result
[i].name,fill:fill,stroke:stroke};
  }
  countryList = keyItems;
  }

  There are ways to make a series do this through subclassing
 (PieSeries
  does this, for example), but for you the easiest thing might be
to
 just
  build your legend manually. Rather than hooking up your legend
to a
  chart, you can explicitly populate it with LegendItems (like you
 would a
  Vbox). LegendItems use renderers to draw their markers just like
 series
  do, so if necessary you can write custom renderers for your
legend
 items
  as well.

Hi, all,

Is it possible to implement a plot chart in flex, which have
   different
color and shape within same PlotSeries.
We are implementing this function like that:

  mx:PlotSeries name=Company1 xField=Debt_1
 yField=Cds_1/
  mx:PlotSeries name=Company2 xField=Debt_2
 yField=Cds_2/
  mx:PlotSeries name=Company3 xField=Debt_3
 yField=Cds_3/
  ...

but it cannot get data from backgroud dynamically. If we put
all
   company
infomation into same Array, there would be no different color
 and
   shape.

Thanks in advance!
John

2006-02-08 Thread wujunjr
Hello,

I'm a newbie in flex(but have fruitful experience in java:). I tried
following issues for several days but failed. Could you tell me how?

1.add a lable on the top of each column in a column chart.

2.set the color of a specified row in datagrid, I found it is possible
to set the color of the column.

Thanks a lot!
