[flexcoders] Re: Flex Profiler... what is the method [tincan]?
This may be my lack of understanding of the Profiler tool but... After de-serialization of the server response and UI rendering of data retrieved from the server, if I do a 'Reset Performance Data' in the Profiler followed by a UI gesture that requires no server trip, and then do a 'Capture Performance Profile' I still see [tincan] hogging 50% of time. Shouldn't it be 0? Thanks Vijay --- In flexcoders@yahoogroups.com, Alex Harui [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: [tincan] is NetConnection. It is probably doing the deserialization of the server response. However the performance profiling I'm doing is for some client-side interactions/animations long after results have returned from the RemoteObject call to the server. If [tincan] is related to NetConnection, I don't understand why it should figure in the performance after the call to the server is completed. Any pointers would be appreciated. My animation performance is horrendous and I sure would like to dig into the thing that is taking half the overall time. [flexcoders] Re: Flex Profiler Not Connecting
Keep in mind the profiler used to connect. I am using the latest version of the debugger, debug mode runs perfect on the machine. I however get nothing from the profiler or the profiler perspective. Normally it would switch to the perspective right away so i'm not sure if it might just by my flex builder install since i have upgraded from beta to release between it working and now. --- In flexcoders@yahoogroups.com, Gaurav. try to change the profiler listener port, I had the same issue not long time ago and by changing the default () to something else fixed the problem. I was able to debug my apps but not able to profile them. -- João Fernandes http://www.onflexwithcf.org http://www.riapt.org Portugal Adobe User Group (http://aug.riapt.org)

From player team: That's time processing RTMP messages. This includes FMS video/audio traffic, rtmp data services, and remote shared object synchronization. Tincan used to be the code name of Flash Communication Server 1.0, now known as Flash Media Server. Perhaps its RTMP related, are you using NetConnection or NetStream in your application? Thijs

RE: [flexcoders] Re: flex profiler
I admit to not having tested the profiler with 1.5, my server has always run 1.4, might be worth checking that as well.
