[Flexradio] Flex 5000

2008-09-02 Thread David Gardner
I just installed new console, firmware and firewire driver. Main receiver works
as normal. 2nd Receiver comes up on the screen but no signals present. I have
in the ant menu the rx1 tap checked. Firmware 1.2.1.10. Before installation
of new software and firmware all worked as normal.
What am I missing? Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: [Flexradio] Announcing an important new firmware/driver/PowerSDRrelease

One clarification: The new PowerSDR release is v1.14.0. The second
reference to PowerSDR v1.12.2 is an error.

Subject: [Flexradio] Announcing an important new
firmware/driver/PowerSDRrelease

Dear FlexRadio customers,

We are pleased to announce an important new Official Release of
FLEX-5000(TM) firmware (v1.2.1.10), FLEX-5000 driver (v3.2.0.1556) and
PowerSDR(TM) (v1.14.0) that are recommended for all customers.

While there are a number of performance and feature improvements contained
in this release, I would like to point out a few of the most important ones:

1. Improved CW keying (FLEX-5000 only) - We have incorporated an
enhanced debounce algorithm in the firmware that eliminates key bounce
problems incurred when using some types of paddles, including the Begali.
Our beta testers report excellent results at very high keying rates using
all of the reported problem paddles.
2. Lower latency and CPU loading (FLEX-5000 only) - The new firmware
and drivers result in lower latency for all operating modes. We have also
seen a significant reduction in CPU loading, which means that the software
will perform better on lower end machines than in the past. With the lower
CPU loading, we have found that more aggressive buffer and driver mode
settings have been possible further reducing latency.
3. Vista 64-bit support (FLEX-5000 only) - The new drivers support
64-bit Vista but we consider this capability to be in Beta test. Since we
have had limited testing in this area, we would appreciate direct feedback
from customers who can test this configuration.
4. New driver interface with built in DPC monitor (FLEX-5000 only) -
The user interface and setup automation for the FLEX-5000 has been improved.
A built in DPC monitor is now included, which helps in isolating latency
problems caused by other devices and/or software found on an individual PC
configuration.
5. New display modes (FLEX-5000 & SDR-1000) - We have added PanaFall
and PanaScope modes that allow the Panadapter over Waterfall and Panadapater
over Oscilloscope with a single receiver.
6. Automated local EEPROM backup (FLEX-5000 only) - PowerSDR will now
create a backup of the radio's EEPROM calibration data to the working
directory the first time the software is loaded.
7. SO2R transmit frequency selection controls (FLEX-5000 only) -
Controls have been added on the VFOA and VFOB to allow simple switching of
the transmit frequency when RX2 is installed.
8. Simplified "Default" TX Profile settings (FLEX-5000 & SDR-1000) - We
now provide two standard default settings for voice modes, which are
optimized for normal voice communications and DX operations respectively.

For a full list of enhancements please read the PowerSDR v1.12.2 - Release

What is your Windows default sound card? I should not be either of the VAC
channels.

Subject: [Flexradio] Using MMTTY and APRS with two Sound Cards(HELP)

I am using the FlexRadio 1K with the Delta M44 sound card and operate MMTTY
sucessfully via The VAC software. However, I am having probems in connecting
my external VHF radioAPRS to the built in Realtec soundcard. I have tried
the control panel sounds and audio devices but can only get either the M44
or realtec soundcards to work independently.

The probem is to get the MMTTY to work via the VAC from the Flex 1K and to
get the APRS audio from my VHF receiver to connect via the mic or line jack
on the PC to the realtec or even to the Delta M44.

Can anyone please help?

Re: [Flexradio] Using MMTTY and APRS with two Sound Cards(HELP)

2008-09-02 Thread Jerry Flanders
I use direct cables for everything - had major problems with VAC in
the beginning, decided to just wire them up directly. I ran cables
between the cards, replacing VAC. Works for me (and better
performance than VAC).
