Re: [Flexradio] PR-40 Microphone and the 5000A, Correct Cabling

Why are you connecting it to the 8-pin mic connector? Use the balanced input
on the back since the mic is already wired as such.

Subject: [Flexradio] PR-40 Microphone and the 5000A, Correct Cabling

I am making a cable to connect my Heil PR-40 microphone to the 8-pin microphone
connector on the front of my 5000A. Could someone help me out with the
microphone cable connections / pinouts? Are both ends of the cable shield
connected or only the radio side?

Thanks for the help

Well, it turns out I lied. Turns out windows WAS stopping the disk.
Somewhere along the line something, probably the upgrade to SP3,
turned the power-save feature back on and set the hard drive to spin
down and shut off. When something caused a disk access later and the
drive was off, DPC latency went through the roof. Now that the disk is
set to never turn spin down the DPC latency peak is only 2320 us. That
seems within reason and works fine in Safe Mode 1.

Regardless, thank you Ray for putting the bug in my ear to go back and
check again. Several times now a software update has changed settings
on me so I need to remember that Microsoft *will* change settings away
from what the user has set.

[Flexradio] SDR-1000 for sale

2009-02-28 Thread John Ackermann N8UR
I posted this shortly before Christmas, but had no takers at the price I
asked then, so am giving it another try. Rather than posting a price,
please contact me off-list at j...@febo.com and we'll see if we can make
a deal.

FOR SALE: SDR-1000 with 100 watt amplifier, ATU, and DEMI 2M
transverter. Also includes parallel to USB converter cable and
SDR-LPF/CBL audio cable.

Not sure if this is the serial number or not, but a label on the bottom
says "ASM-0437004".

Returned to Flex in July 2007 for checkout, installation of transverter,
and upgrade with all ECOs (including update to 8 pin mic connector).
I'll provide the service report (dated 2 July 2007) showing performance
verification at that time.

Radio is in as-new condition with very little use since the 2007 service.

Currently configured for external frequency reference; I will include
the original 200 MHz oscillator with the unit, and can reinstall it and
reconfigure the unit for internal frequency reference if desired.

Please contact me off-list if you're interested.

Thanks!

John N8UR
