it's coming soon :-)

That is it, exactly. A power connector has to be added to the PA board for
the 60 watt version.

Barry,

The way I understand it, it is the power handling capability of the built-in
connectors used by the VU. To get to 60 watts, separate power wiring must
be added. Maybe someone from Flex will give a better explanation.

Re: [Flexradio] FLEX-5000 V/U upgrade module question

2009-08-22 Thread Gerald Youngblood
I think most of the questions have been answered on this thread so I will
just add an update:

1. The FLEX-V/U module will completely fill the chassis so there is no more
room for other internal options.
2. The design has been completely tested using SMA connected modules on the
bench.
3. PCB layout is well under way.
4. We are planning to have production by year end.
5. We are taking pre-orders now.

Yes. The RX2 installs below the heat sink on underneath the TRX board.
Both the ATU and V/U-mod install on top of the heat sink above the PA. It
will fill up the space in the chassis, but leave enough room for adequate
cooling and air flow.

[Flexradio] External PTT not working?

2009-08-22 Thread Dennis Petrich

Hello all,

I have a new Flex5000A and for some reason the external PTT stopped
working?? I am using DDUtil to drive my steppir and 2800 rotor and using
DX4WIN as my logging program. I have everything working together very
nicely in automatic mode. I tried using the external PTT (pluged in the
back) and it doesn't work any more? I tried the Flex by it self with the
other programs off and still no joy. I shutdown the flex and restarted
everything and still no joy? I verifyed the PTT switch was working. At
this point I could use a fresh idea?

Thanks in advance, Dennis, k0eoo
