Re: [Flexradio] This is one that I never thought I would say!
Don, Steve, W5FR, has provided a great tutorial on doing exactly what you want to do: http://k5fr.com/ddutilwiki/index.php?title=How_To#Starting_Multiple_Programs _using_Windows_Scripting_Host . Using his tutorial I now have a single mouse click to open the seven separate programs I use when I operate my Flex. 73, Mack de WB4MAK http://www.nfarl.org http://www.sedxc.org -Original Message- From: flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of Don Sent: Monday, July 05, 2010 23:40 To: Flex Radio Subject: [Flexradio] This is one that I never thought I would say! Hello All Well I never thought I would say this but I need to slow down the loading of programs. Well when I start up Win 7 I have it auto load vspMgr, Data Decoder and vcctlpan. So what happens some of the time is that Data Decoder starts loading before vspMgr is fully setup. So the end result is that since some of the com ports are not set up yet, Data Decoder see's that the com port is not available and does not setup properly. It's not really a big deal, I just close Data Decoder, re-run vspMgr and then Data Decoder. But I would rather auto-load them. So does anyone know how to delay the loading about 2-3 seconds between programs? It's been a long time but can you still create batch files for Win 7? [Flexradio] This is one that I never thought I would say!
Thanks everyone for the help. Steve K5FR I did check the vspMgr short cut and both run as XP and run as administrator were already checked. So I checked the device manager and indeed the com ports were already set up. So I deleted that line from my Scripting file. I did use your example, Mack WB4MAK had already mentioned it. So I stayed up most of the night getting it too work on my system. The problem (for me) was in the saving of the file format. It took quite a while for me to figure out how to save the file in VBS format. Actually I never did really figure it out, it just happen in one of my many attempts. By the was I was using WordPad from Win 7. I'm sure there are better programs but that's what I was using. During my trial and error (typing when you're tired - well not the smartest thing!) time I noticed that the Data Decoder utility was not set up correctly. So I had to re-run vspMgr and reset the RCP com ports. So I started to run vspMgr every time. Now the script line for vspMgr has been removed and everything works fine. By the way, thanks to the forum for letting me stray from PowerSDR issues. Re: [Flexradio] FLDIGI Problem
FWIW DXLabs Commander is having the same issues as you describe with FLDIGI.When I try to connect through Commander with the secondary CAT port FLDIGI doesnot communicate with CAT. If I connect directly to the SDR CAT then all is well. I just switched to Win7 a few weeks ago and I don't recall having this issue with XP. Not sure if it an issue with FLDIGI or the PowerSDR RigCat file that is not playingright with Win7?? Dan KG0AQ Hi Tim, That's what I did after I sent the email and found that it works fine without ddutil in the path. Re: [Flexradio] FLDIGI Problem
It probably isn't the RigCAT file since it works perfectly directly connected to PowerSDR. It might be the RigCAT or the comport handling logic in Fldigi. I believe that DXLabs Commander was designed with interfacing to a physical serial port in mind, so it might have problems handling virtual comport traffic like HRD has been known to do sometimes. -Tim -Original Message- From: flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of Dan Sent: Tuesday, July 06, 2010 5:19 PM To: Flex Reflector Subject: Re: [Flexradio] FLDIGI Problem FWIW DXLabs Commander is having the same issues as you describe with FLDIGI.When I try to connect through Commander with the secondary CAT port FLDIGI doesnot communicate with CAT. [Flexradio] Some observations while testing 1500
Hello I observed the following while testing tonight. This is all on new install of windows 7. Nothing installed except PowerSDR 2.0.5 Beta at the moment. 1) When Flex 1500 is on and I boot computer and then run PowerSDR, it will hang looking for Radio. Power cycling the radio and trying again recovers. Is this a known issue? What is the proper way to turn things on? Boot computer and then turn radio on? The reverse does not seem to work. 2) Antenna selections for transverter operation are not remembered from session to session. I filed this as a bug already as I didn't see it list on the public bug list. 3) I have only left channel audio on phones. I have tried one headset and one headphones - both are same, just left channel. Multi-RX pan controls are centered. This seems like something simple but I was not able to get both left and right working. 4) The audio delay when MON is on is too long even with audio buffer size set to minimum - my opinion, your mileage may vary 5) In transverter mode while listening to 2m repeaters (there was no SSB active during my test :) ) received audio in FMN mode has a noticeable ringing to it. If any of these observations are known issues please let me know. If there is a cockpit error i would also like to know. thanks for time Joe k6sat ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
