[Flexradio] frequency
Hi I always find that I like the sound of a station on SSB when I tune 100 Hz off .. ie: 50.109900 instead of 50.110. Is there an easy way to put this 100Hz offset into the powerSDR setup? 73 Kevin ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

[Flexradio] 5K PA and Driver bias readings
I have the preliminary 2007-2008 service manual for the 5K and am running the BITE tests. It states that the bias currents for the driver and PA should be 200 ma and 1.4A, respectively. The actual values I'm getting are considerably higher than that: 1.0A and 2.264A(nominal). These values are confirmed with an ammeter placed in series with the +13.8v power supply. Am guessing they are correct and that they've been intentionally increased since the original service manual was published. Is this the case? Parenthetically, the values shown in the Debug window vary quite a bit from reading-to-reading, although the actual ammeter current remains constant. This seems puzzling... 73, Rod ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
[Flexradio] v.2.0.22 startup problems
Am having trouble starting up v.2.0.22 on my 5K. There are three scenarios: 1) I double-click on the PSDR icon and nothing happens. When I double-click again, I get error message that other PSDR instances are running. The only way to recover is to restart my computer. 2) After double-clicking the icon, the startup screen comes up but the startup sequence gets only about 1/3 of the way through and the startup screen abruptly disappears. Double-clicking again usually succeeds but sometimes it takes three tries. 3) Everything comes up properly on the first try. This doesn't happen very often. I have tried both power-up sequences: power-up computer first, then radio and vice-versa. Doesn't seem to make any difference. Am running Windows XP, SP3. CPU is Celeron 2.40 Ghz. 480MB RAM. Have not seen this problem on the reflector and gather that I'm doing something stupid. Suggestions welcome. 73, Rod ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

At the top, select the tab Processes. Click on Image Name to sort them in alpha order. Then scroll down to PowerSDR and right click it, and select End Process. This doesn't always get rid of the ghost PowerSDR, but it usually does. As for the other problems, I'm sorry to say that I can't offer any suggestion. 73, Tony KT0NY ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] 5K PA and Driver bias readings
The service manual has not been updated in this regard. The PA BIAS driver target is 1.0 amps and the PA BIAS Final target is 2.28 amps. These values were change a while back to improve the audio quality of phone modes. Your numbers are dead on target. The values you see in the debug form are single samples taken periodically, not averages over time. -Tim --- Tim Ellison, W4TME Internet Systems Admin. Re: [Flexradio] v.2.0.22 startup problems
Rod, Are earlier versions running ok? Reason I ask, you are below the minimum CPU to run PowerSDR, not that it can't work, but it is going to be pretty marginal . If previous versions were 2.x versions, try holding the left shift key, while double clicking PowerSDR, this should bring up the Reset Database message, click OK...If it still refuses to come up, remove the Master.xml file in the FlexRadio System folder under your user name/ appdata folder.. Actually I would like to get a copy of either the database file or master file which ever corrects the issue.. So try your previous version to see if that still works ok.. 73, Dudley WA5QPZ On 7/14/2011 4:56 PM, Rod Brink wrote: Am having trouble starting up v.2.0.22 on my 5K. I think he is trying to determine if there is a problem. If PowerSDR is able to self-calibrate the radio to WWV with some kind of reasonable clock offset, then the radio is probably working properly. If it tracks WWV within a Hz or so after calibration at 15MHz or 20MHz, then there is a good chance that the 100Hz error at 50MHz is NOT the Flex radio but rather his 50MHz reference signal that has the 100Hz error. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 br...@lloyd.com +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.916.877.5067 (USA) ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] frequency
Guy, It's really easy with WWV (or you can use any other high calibrated signal) , go to the Calibration tab of Setup, page 132 of the current Owners Guide, click the Expert box, with a good signal on WWV, at least a S5 on the meter, be sure to match the frequency box to the WWV or generator frequency and click Start.. Wait a few seconds for the Finished message.. That's it.. 73, Dudley On 7/14/2011 8:30 PM, Guy Harris wrote: Just how does one check the frequency calibration on a F5k?
