[Flexradio] Yaesu md1-c8 microphone flex 5000a
All, In talking with Dudley, I have been told that the vintage Yeasu md1-c8 desk microphones are not completely compatiable with the front connector on the Flex 5000a. As it was mentioned that some Flex users have got this microphone to work with the Flex. I would like to know what pin-out changes were done. If you want to contact me offline or send me something outlining what needs to be done, I would appreciate. I am trying to eliminate RF ingress issues and am starting with the microphone wiring. I would like to use my radio on bands besides 80 meters. Thanks and hope to hear from someone in regards to this. 73, Robert KB6QXM "Ham Radio Open Conversation" Yahoo group owner/moderator ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

In the group archives you'll also find driver info, hardware and building tips, and a wealth of theoretical knowledge. [Flexradio] Flex-3000 and FHM-1 DX with a Heil HC-6
Yesterday afternoon I had a unique experience. I worked OF9X (the Santa Clause station) on 20M SSB. He was using a Web cam to send Video and Audio of his operation live over the Internet. So I monitored that when I called him and heard my own Audio echoing back with a slight delay from his radio over 4000 miles away. I was quite pleased with the way I punched through and sounded using the Heil Proset 6 boom headset with the FHM-1 DX profile. The only change I made to the profile was to turn on the Downward Expander to reduce shack noise. 73, Rich - W3ZJ ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] RFI into Heilprosetplus
Lars - I had some rfi issues using my 5000. Moving the antenna further away from the shack and adding an rf choke at the antenna feedpoint solved my problems. 73 Wayne K4ELO On Mon, Dec 17, 2012, at 02:26 PM, Lars Pettersson wrote: > I have a Flex 5000A > That seems to pickup RF into the mic, is this a known problem? > //Lars SM4IVE > > ___ > FlexRadio Systems Mailing List > FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz > http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz > Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ > Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: > http://www.flexradio.com/ ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

[Flexradio] FlexWire peripherals
Don, I use it for switching transverters and through DDUTIL you can switch HF antennas as well. It simply needs a PCA9555A chip on the I2C port. I put together a little peripheral for this purpose. I documented it at k3tuf.com/FW.html 73, Phil K3TUF ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
[Flexradio] RF ingress and solutions
All, I have had RF ingress issues with my Flex since I have put the radio on the air. The issues are worse on 14 mhz and above, but can be noticed if I try to operate very far away from resonance of the antenna. I get RF into my transmit audio and my amplified speakers/subwoofer. As I am using a dipole that is not far from the shack, I would expect this type of RF field. I do not presently have any common mode Chokes on the coax. I am thinking about using 2 line isolators from radio works, one with a ground that will go to a ground rod and another isolator at the output of the rig. The second item is to remove the shield/ground connection in the microphone and the last item is to purchase a artificial ground and tune the resonate counterposes for each band. Any thoughts? 73, Robert KB6QXM "Ham Radio Open Conversation" Yahoo group owner/moderator ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
