Re: [Flexradio] VAC audio driver

2014-05-22 Thread Phil Cragg
I just know I've missed something here, but why do we need two VAC cables
for CW Skimmer? As I understand it Skimmer is only receiving audio from the
receiver, not sending audio back to the Flex???

I use CWSkimmer with my 5K and I choose the WDM driver, and VAC cables 1 and
2.

Works a treat!

[Flexradio] preamp upgrade on 3000

2014-05-22 Thread wt4t
Bought a 3000 the sn# is 2009-0147, I would assume unless it had been sent
back the preamp has never been updated. I will call flex friday and see if they
kept records of the updates.

[Flexradio] Beam Steering Enhancement

2014-05-22 Thread Steve Sterling

Hi Ken (AC0HO):
In another thread, you mentioned your success with 5K beam steering
enhancement, I think you are referring to the ESC function.

What antenna configuration do you use, particularly the "noise sensing"
antenna that is hooked to RX2-in? I've tried a couple of configurations
with available antennas, and haven't been able to detect even a phase
shift let alone any noise or signal null and I've spent quite a bit of
time moving the mouse around that ESC window. Please share any secrets
you have in obtaining functionality of the tool.

Thanks in advance--

I will have to go to the 6700 to get the "beam steering" feature. And I

But I have fire-wire and VAC working well into a dedicated PC and I do not

Re: [Flexradio] Location of recording using SmartSDR

2014-05-22 Thread Eric Wachsmann
Ron,

Good question. The Quick Record/Playback feature included in SmartSDR
v1.2.1 was just the beginning of such capabilities. For now the recording
stays on the radio and is not accessible from the client PC. It was pulled
into the v1.2 release from the original schedule knowing that we wouldn't
have the complete set of features that would allow the user to
download/upload the recorded files with the idea that the basic function
would be appreciated by many. The rest of the record/playback
functionality is planned for a future release.

Let us know if you have additional questions. We're happy to help.

Re: [Flexradio] flex 3000

2014-05-22 Thread Jack Haverty
My Flex-3000 is one of the first release. When the preamp mod occurred
about 5 years ago, Flex did a free factory upgrade to older units. If you
contact Flex with your unit's serial number, they can probably tell you
whether or not the mod has been installed.

Did you order your 6300 before the hamfest and then pick it up there?
I ordered mine a full week before the hamfest and haven't heard a thing
back from FLEX.
I guess I should have just gone to the hamfest and bought one like
everyone else did.
