Why is it a catch 22? There should be a physical label on the radio with the 
serial number.

In addition to the Reflector, I recommend that you query the Community 
(https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio) for info on your issue.  
There are a lot of users there who have gone through the trials and 
tribulations of getting third-party digital mode applications properly

the program receives OK but I cannot get the flex to go into TX!
Can someone explain if I need to sett up a PTT port to TX or do I use the cat 
control to put the flex into TX or do I need to configure both the PTT and CAT 
control
any help would be good thanks
