[Flexradio] Audio Issues

2007-03-21 Thread Doug McCann VA3CR
The SDR-1000 is a fantastic radio on receive but I am having some issues
with transmitting.

The transmit audio just doesn't have any "punch" and the output power seems
to be about half compared to my Yaesu FT1000MP.

My watt meter peaks about 25 watts vs 1000MP which peaks about 50 watts on
voice.

I notice that I have to try 2 or 3 times to check into nets that I always
got into the first time.

The mic is a Heil Goldline

Settings are as follows:

Mic Gain 55

Comp3

Preamp+3db

Preamp low+4db

Preamp mid +7db

Preamp high +4db

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

[Flexradio] SDR Audio Problem

2007-01-31 Thread Doug McCann VA3CR
Hello Eric

In spite of my change of settings and adding the Wall Wart, it happened
again this afternoon. I think you are right, as I had Hibernate enabled and
I had left the radio on for a couple of hours only to return to find it
having problems.

I have disabled hibernate and will wait to see if it happens again.

Thanks again for the tremendous support.

You may also want to double check your hibernation/stand by options. These

can adversely affect removable devices like the FA-66 if you allow it to

Hibernate or Sleep.

[Flexradio] SDR Audio Problem

2007-01-31 Thread Doug McCann VA3CR
Sometimes when I use the SDR-1000, the audio cuts out and then back on,
pulsing like that about once or twice per second.

I found a solution, which is to turn off PowerSDR and Turn off my Edirol
FA-66, then restart both.

It's not a big deal and doesn't do it often, but I was wondering if this is
a known issue and if there is a fix.

I am running a very fast desktop PC with lots of memory.

[Flexradio] Help with Power Amp Calibration

2007-01-19 Thread Doug McCann VA3CR
I just purchased my unit and it was delivered Friday.

Serial # 0646-0679

When running the test the following happened:

Test Run 1:

160 Metres tried 8 times and stopped.

Message: Calculated gain is invalid...

I checked all the connections and settings which looked OK

I rebooted PC and Turned off the SDR-1000

I turned off the Edirol FA-66

Test Run 2:

Now it works OK until 15 Meter Ext/Adv SSB

Indicator shows 70%

Message: Calculated gain is invalid...

Test Run 3:

Tried again without reboot and

160 Metres tried 8 times and stopped.

Message: Calculated gain is invalid...

Test Run 4:

Now it works OK until 15 Meter Ext/Adv SSB

Indicator shows 70%

Message: Calculated gain is invalid...

Every test SWR on external meter is showing 1.1:1

Power out on external meter is varying with tests but never exceeding 100
watts
