[Flexradio] Vedr: Re: old sdr-1000 question
The big difference between Firebox and FA-66 is that FA-66 is capable of 192Khz sampling frequency, and the you have a much wider panadapter.Firebox can do 128Khz but is best at 64KHz. 73'sLB5VA, Stig Fra: flexradio-requ...@flex-radio.biz flexradio-requ...@flex-radio.biz Til: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Sendt: Lørdag, 25. oktober 2014 19.00 Emne: FlexRadio Digest, Vol 114, Issue 15 Send FlexRadio mailing list submissions to flexradio@flex-radio.biz To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to flexradio-requ...@flex-radio.biz You can reach the person managing the list at flexradio-ow...@flex-radio.biz When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than Re: Contents of FlexRadio digest... The basses convey very little speach information, but eat up the limited power of your transmitter. Unless you want to broadcast a Hi-Fi music program on ham bands use a good quality multi-channel equalizer to attenuate the lower frequencies of your modulation. And if you want real information carrying audio punch, you may use a PROPERLY MADE compressor or even RF clipper. However, never use compressors and/or clippers, if the the basses are not attenuated. Almost four years' time already I have tried to convince our Flex software wizards and gurus to implement an integrated audio processor that would enhance the speech signal intelligibility in noise at least as well as explained in the following ancient articles. Within the SVN directory structure, there are elements called branches. The BCI Filter was developed in the K2OX branch and is independent of the main code trunk. Not all code that is developed in these branches is incorporated into the main source code trunk. That decision is left up to the FRS Development team since they control the trunk. [Flexradio] Squelch after ANF, not before
Hello all. First; I'll post this here because I see nothing happening in the Feature request section on the web. All cases is Open since beginning og august. Why is that? To the subject...: It could be an idea to make the squelch be operating after the ANF if possible. I often monitor SSB frequencies with the squelch set. Then a carrier or some cw opens the squelch. If I use the ANF, the tone disapears, but the squelch remains open and the noise comes through. I'll think that if the ANF took care of the beep tone in front of the squelch it would not open. I read today the article Q10082 - HOWTO: Remote Audio Rev 2.2 for the Flex-Radio SDR-1000, and I dont understand why to use an external VAC (Virtual Audio Cable) program? I dont use such program. I use Skype for the sound. I use a Toshiba laptop with internal Realtek AC97 Audio and use that for this audio. (For the SDR-1000 I use Firebox.) In Power-SDR, the Audio VAC setup, I just select Driver=MME, Input=Realtek AC97 Audio, and Output=Realtek AC97 Audio. Enable VAC is checked of course. Play around with Windows Mixer to get the sound levels right. NB. Don't let Skype control the Audio.(A setting in Skype) This makes Skype automaticly change to use the mic(in mixer) and not the Stereo mix for recording (sending out sound). Works fine for me. Very strange, and I dont like it when tings is not stable.:-) When turned on with PowerSDR it goes down to 0,9A Turning off with PowerSDR, goes down to 0,75A (! Then things is controlled right I think.) What I wonder the most, is the 1A when turned off with the front button. Is all this normal? Can someone tell me how to start scanning. In the 1.6.2 there is a Scanner-button on the front.(Greyed out, no function) In 1.6.3 SVN there is no such button as I can find. [Flexradio] Small bug in SVN, Spectrum Grid alignment
Hello, I first noticed this in SVN686 and still in 689. The Spectrum grid text dissapears in USB and CWU mode, if you select Align - Left. (Setup, Display, Spectrum Grid.) Using the default Align - Auto, then all is fine. I tested with a new database-file. Same thing here. First problem was that i goes directly to TX when I start push Standby button. Fixing this with dissable PTT is not a good solution, then VOX dont work. Next problem is controlling the ATU. This is not working, and the transmitter hangs in MOX. I really hope you can send a new cable/adaptor without me first returning, since that shipment vil cost me much.. Stig, Open the Setup Form and go to the General Tab - Options sub tab. There is a control there to disable PTT. The default shortcut for PTT is Ctrl+M. Also, after you have clicked on the MOX button, you can push the spacebar to activate the last button. This can function as a pseudo PTT control. [Flexradio] Receiver calibration / ATU question
Hello folks, I'm rather new with an 1,5 week old SDR-1k. I'm using this on different computers, but with the same Firebox. Do I need to calibrate it on every machine? (If i want correct meter readings.) Or is it ok just to copy the database file, after calibrating on one of the computers? An other question... I have 100W and ATU build in. In Transmit Setup there is a setting for Tune, 10W. But when I tune, my external meter shows 20 - 30W during the tuning. Whatever the setting is. This is with version 1.6.2 release version and with SVN 659. Why is this so? I have read all documentation but miss some detailed information on the audio connectors, line in and out. + Firebox connector advise. 1 - Is it stereo connectors on SDR-1000, or possible to connect as balanced? 2 - Do you recomend balanced connection on the Firebox side? 73's LA4WAA, Stig - Oslo ___ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com
