Re: [Flexradio] EQ frequencies

Hi,

Low: 0-400 Hz
Mid: 400-1500 Hz
High: 1500-6000 Hz

Look for/at the tooltips ! I'm quite sure you can't
edit these values so easily and there is no need
to do that.

hi,

since v1.4.5 Preview 6 there is a bug in Rtty click tuning aid.
Rtty HAM standard says that mark and space frequencies are
2125 Hz and 2295 Hz respectively. Which means that click tuning offset
should be 2210 Hz not 2040Hz as suggested by AB7R:

P.S. Rtty'ers ...Bob ! Can you confirm this as well, please ?

Re: [Flexradio] Rev 8- Scope Black Out

hi,

it recovers OK from hibernation if GDI+
is selected as driver engine. If DirectX
is used - hibernation causes a scope blackout.

Richard,

There is no easy way for us to solve this problem because not every
system recovers in the same way after going into Power Saver or Standby
mode. I would encourage you to disable this mode in favor of using a
screensaver when running the PowerSDR software. If it is absolutely
necessary to have standby mode active, then I would recommend closing
the the PowerSDR software before walking away.

If my computer goes to sleep when the Power SDR is running and I then
awaken the computer, the scope is black and I can’t get it to
reactivate. I can not shut SDR down even when I use the task manager to
do so- I have to reboot the system.

The system is a Pentium 4, 3.4 Ghz, 2 g of ram, Windows XP Pro.

Re: [Flexradio] PowerSDR Ver 1.4.5.P5/P6 - Strange TX pulsing UPdate

2005-11-17 Thread rihob., es7aaz

Hi,

I have exactly the same symptoms here
with Esi Juli soundcard. No matter what
the buffer(s) sizes are, pulsing never goes
completely away.

rgds,
riho.

SERGE BERTUZZO wrote:
Further to my email below, I am continue to experience the pulsing
problem on TX when using the SDR in conjunction with MIxW. I have tried
both Preview 5 and Preview 6 and I experience the same problem. I do
have some additional info to share with a view to solving this problem.

The pulsing does not appear to occur when I transmit the first time
(just after I activate MixW) However,if I transmit twice in a row the
pulsing begins on the second transmission and by the third transmission
and beyond, it is pulsing at a rate of approx 1 pulse per second.

All, software VCOM/VAC and PowerSDR I believe are set up as
per instructions (Bob - N4HY) . Hardware wise I only have the D44
connected to the SDR and computer - everything else has been removed
from the computer.

Any suggestions/guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello to the list. I hope someone can shed some light on a problem
that I am experiencing. The setup here is a Pentium 4 3GHz - 512 BM
- Delta 44 , VAC and VCOM. I am using MixW for my digital modes.

I am finding that while I am able to control the MixW software and

decode digital transmissions, I seem to experience a pulsing action
(approx 1 sec intervals) on the transmitted signal. On PSK or RTTY
you can also clearly notice the pulsing action on the panadapter
display of the PowerSDR console.

I thought that this problem could be related to the VAC settings. I

adjusted the buffer size in the SDR VAC setup from 512 - 2048. With
the lower setting the pulsing (still occurs but not as frequent)
however it is much more pronounced (almost seems stronger as well)
when I have the buffer set to the 2048 setting.
I thought that perhaps I had a SWR problem with the antenna so I
tested the SDR with a dummy load and experienced the same problem. I
have monitored my signals on another receiver and am able to hear
the pulsing action.

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in

advance.

[Flexradio] v1.4.5 p6 RTTY Click-Tuning wrong offset

RTTY Click-Tuning offset should be 2210Hz, not 2040Hz
if Mark freq. is 2125Hz and shit 170Hz as HAM default.

I sure do wish ESI/Audiotrak DirectWire 3.0 worked with other products.

Please read the manufacturers specifications on these MAYA, ESI,
Audiotrak cards, and in particular, please pay close attention to the
noise floor specs. This is usually given in the "A/D SNR" or "A/D
dynamic range" and is measured in dBA usually.

The Delta 44, as specified on the M-Audio web site, measures 99 dBA.
The Maya products, even their latest ones are 90 dBA. The Lynx L22 and
the Audiophile 192 are well over 100 dBA but neither has sufficient
inputs and outputs for our current working model. The ESI "Juli" that
Riho likes has seriously good dynamic range if it meets their claims of
112 dB. It would be good if Riho could measure the loopback performance
with RightMark Audio Analyzer (5.5 is now out) and let us know the
results with this card.

http://audio.rightmark.org/index_new.shtml

For those who are just before giving up on a USB solution for your
laptop, and will consider using 16 bit cards, the MAYA44 USB has better
specs than the Extigy or the MP3+.

Here is a block diagram of its workings:

http://www.audiotrak.net/images/maya44usb_bd1.gif

Its A/D SNR is 86 dBA and this is because of 18 bit parts.

I have no experience with Maya, Audiotrak, etc. but the products look
interesting and if they continue to improve the noise floor, we should
get something reasonable from them. The Juli's specs look really good
if they are hold up under measurement. It will be good for all
soundcard program modes using the DirectWire 3.0 software.

Re: [Flexradio] vCom install problems

2005-06-22 Thread rihob., es7aaz

Hi,

vCOM build 114 works fine with WriteLog (contest logging software).
It's XP Home here in use as well.

Larry Loen wrote:
I am having trouble getting N8VB's virtual comm device driver going.
Maybe the documentation exists, but it isn't biting me on the nose.

Here's the deal:

1. I downloaded the 114 build.

2. I clicked on install.bat (seemed the likely thing to try -- no
readme, so I guessed).

3. It started off with all the usual warnings about unsigned drivers.

4. Then, it asked for vCom.sys. This took me aback. Why should I be
asked about this?

5. There were two of them I found rummaging around. One was in a
directory that commenced with the unobvious name of objckk_wxp_x86 and
the other with the equally meaningless to me name of objfre_wxp_x86.
But, they had the file in them.

6. I attempted to install one. After I selected it, the install
appeared to complete. Rebooted. Ham Radio Deluxe failed to open it.
The reason seemed clear enough. Windows' device manager complained it
was missing necessary files to load the driver. It did seem to have
installed the file I selected.

7. Uninstalled the driver from Device Manager display.

8. Installed the other one.

9. Same messages.

I have a relatively vanilla XP Home system. I have it configured for
the defaults (COM4, it appears) and that's "clear" on my system, as I
have only COM1 and COM2 in terms of physical hardware. Nothing but COM1
shows up as a port as far as Windows is concerned.

What am I doing wrong? Where's the documentation I missed so I didn't
have to do so much guessing? I saw no readme and nothing on Phil's page
that was helpful for this.

Larry WO0Z

PS, this is one time where I miss the forum.
