While I agree that it makes more sense that it would be something like a switching power supply,but the signal is strongest when connected to my outdoor antenna +20 or so. I've done indoor sniffing with a loop antenna and I barely pick up the signal if at all. We're on 2 acres and the closest neighbor to the antenna is 300 or 400 feet away. I'm gonna keep plugging along .. Brian C & Brian L I did get an email from the ionosnode folks in Boulder: --- Dave, We are indeed operating two ionosondes at our facility on Broadway, in Boulder. I will look over your plots. As a favor, would you attempt to time stamp the phenomena for me? One of our older radars is initiating a sweep at these 15 minute intervals 00, 15, 30, 45 of each hour. Our second radar is initiating a sweep at these 15 minute intervals 05, 20, 35, 50 of each hour. Each broadcast sweep takes ~ 3 minutes. Actually it's multiples of 80Hz or so.. The harmonics are a multiple of 170. That being said, I do have a Netgear managed switch that I will check out. Shoot -- ran 5000 from battery operated notebook, it's not the PC's or monitors. Brian You may be on to something.. I have since found the same pattern at around 5 Mhz with harmonics in 30m . I have also found they are in multiples about every 170Khz or so .. They swoosh through every 15 seconds or so.
