Re: [Flexradio] Audio distortion
Dave, You are taking resources from servicing the FW or USB driver, max delay is 4000us without causing issues. Make sure you Windows Power Options is set to High Performance, if using wireless , disable that and try a hardwired NIC instead. 73, Dudley WA5QPZ Sent from my iPhone > On Apr 8, 2014, at 7:42 PM, David Gallatin wrote: > > Hi all, > I've noted that when I have PSDR up in front of me my rx audio is great. Hi, I had a similar problem, try closing all programmes down and try again. It was a memory problem that was causing my distortion due to poor processing. Try AVG PC Tune Up which will close down / manage all programmes on your PC for overall improved performance. 73's Glenn M1 AQO Glenn Nutsey Sales Director Nationwide Vehicle Contracts t: 0844 482 9595 | f: 0844 482 9911 | e:gl...@nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk Read what our customers thought about our service… Glenn Nutsey Sales Director Nationwide Vehicle Contracts t: 0844 482 9595 | f: 0844 482 9911 | e: gl...@nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk Read what our customers thought about our service… ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

[Flexradio] Audio Distortion - Thanks for the response
Thanks to all who responded to my question on distortion in PSDR and DPCs. I had never gone over 1,000 and was able to see when it was spiking. I have a few of the offending programs running and although I had not had the problem before I've shut down some unneeded processes and that seems to have cleared things up. Thanks again for the quick response. [Flexradio] Audio Distortion
Recently I've noticed that my 5000A will occasionally drop in to a state of distorted audio on both receive and transmit during a QSO. At first I thought of excessive CPU demand because of multitasking, but its occurred with usage under 50%. I simply turn PSDR off and on in an instant and everything clears up. I've not encountered this problem over the past 4-6 weeks with versions 2.2.3 and 2.3.5. It happens and a recycle brings everything back and it might not happen again for a few days or could occur 2 or 3 times in 10 minutes of operating. Does anyone know what might cause it and what the fix might be? I'm running Vista with a dual core 2.4MHz processor and 4GB of RAM. The same system I've had for 3+ years with the 5000.A Thanks in advance. IIRC, the recent CW changes were made to the firmware inside the FLEX radios. The SDR-1000 has no firmware inside (which is actually a benefit when you want to switch around among the various editions of PowerSDR). Re: [Flexradio] Audio Distortion
If you make the upgrade to the latest version (2.0.22) you will enjoy the sweet fruit of better CW assuming you have a FLEX-xx00 SDR (the CW changes are not applicable to the SDR-1000) Also feedback and echo are usually indicative of RF in the Firewire cable or the mic cable. -Tim --- W4TME FlexRadio Systems Internet Systems Admin.
