[Flexradio] Codec required to play back PowerSDR recordings?
Hello all. I've updated WMP to the latest version trying to play post-processed audio from a file that PowerSDR saved. PowerSDR loads and plays the file fine, but not WMP. The reason I wanted to do this was to fast forward into a long one hour recording I made while away from the house. PowerSDR doesn't allow me to do this (at least I haven't found a way to do it yet). WMP v.11 says I need the IEEE Float (3) codec, but it can't find the codec on the Internet. Don't see any reference to it in the knowledge base either. I can find it on an obscure website, but am unwilling to download from an untrusted source. For those of you using the audio recording features of PowerSDR, what are you doing to make it work? -Tim ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] Codec required to play back PowerSDR recordings?
I use Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Which allows me to record, play, edit, convert to MP3, adjust level, etc.. I use it with TeamSpeak recordings to eliminate dead air, uhhs, off-topic conversations, amplify the guys with low levels, change the tempo without changing the pitch, etc. The free, open source software is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. When you open a file with Audacity, it shows you an oscillograph of the recording. You can click anywhere in the recording and start playing there. When opening a file, it builds a master file plus a folder of files of the audio. You can save it in the Audacity format, or export it to another format. To trim the front, click your cursor at the start of the section you want, Control-Home to select the leading section, and Delete. You can check the Audacity forum on where to get CoDecs to support various formats. Mike - AA8K Tim Lemmon wrote: Hello all. Hi Tim, just in case...make sure that you have sampling rate under wave options set to 44100 in PowerSDR. 73 Ross K9COX Hello all.
