Re: [Flexradio] Flex-5000 "PA Info" Display Bug During Satellite Operation?

Dudley,

Using XVTR ports.

Flex PA not in play.

I have only seen this during my full duplex operation with transmit on.
I hear my downlink and no drop outs. Both TX and RX frequencies being
updated. I have the RX2 in my Flex-5000. It is enabled. Split operation
is being use with TX on VFO B.

CPU use is less than 40%. System is Intel quad CPU Q8200 running Win 7
Pro x64 with all updates .

FlexRadio utility reports majority of DPCs less than 100 us, about
114000 reports. PA Info error seen numerous times with FlexRadio
running. Max DPC is less than 300 usec, 2 reports; less than 200 usec, 6
reports during a sample run with numerous PA Info errors seen.

I have not noticed this during the years of operation in simplex mode
with or without transverters. Of course, all that operation is without
realtime doppler correction occuring in full duplex mode.

Bill,

Are you having to run the PA to drive the transverter? Normally use
the low level XVTR ports to drive the transverters..A sudden jump
in the temperature / voltage may either be a system resource issue or
a ADC problem in the radio.. How is the radio running otherwise?
Any audio or RF output drop outs? How much CPU percentage are you
showing in PowerSDR? And the DPCs?If high resources could be a
problem..

I have noticed an error in the PA Info display, Ctrl-Shift-I, when
I am in mode B and transmit is enabled. The Temp: will read very
unusual temperatures, i.e. 572, intermittently for a moment.
Values change, but seem to be repetitive. I have seen large
negative F values also. The Voltage: also reads 0 briefly
sometimes. The radio appears to function normally when this occurs.

This occurs even if the TX Drive is set to 0.

I am running SatPC32 V.12.8b to control the uplink and downlink
frequencies using x10 Speed. The problem seems to only occur when
CAT is enabled on SatPC32.

This seems like a conflict between variables used by PowerSDR's
CAT control and the PA Info routines.

Is anyone else using a Flex-5000 seeing this?

My flex 3000 does the same thing when I use my mouse wheel to scroll the VFO on
the panadapter. I have a mouse wheel the free-wheels and tunes very fast.
