[Flexradio] PowerSDR 2.3.5 and SDR-1000 Parallel Port Problems

2012-04-09 Thread Larry Robison
First let me say that I am amazed at how well the PowerSDR software
still supports the good old SDR-1000! Over the weekend I brought my 1000
out of the closet and installed PowerSDR on a fresh load of XP Pro.
Everything was loaded, along with DOT NET extensions, and all updates
done. The first run of PowerSDR would not find the parallel port and
thus no relay click and nothing worked. I spent Saturday trying
everything known to man, measuring PP voltages, connecting a printer,
checking a known good cable with a Fluke a hundred times and everything
was fine except the SDR-1000 would not work! Finally I loaded a second
computer with a new load of XP Pro and repeated everything that I had on
the first computer. It didn't work either! Finally, I loaded PowerSDR
1.18 and it worked fine and when I went back to 2.3.5, it worked! I
moved all of the cables back to the original computer loaded 1.18 and
that fixed it also.

I checked all known sources for 2.3.5 anomalies for the SDR-1000 install
and nothing mentions a problem like this. Oh, I did this all again on a
third computer and it worked the same.

It's amazing. Looking at the screen, you would not know (with some small
exceptions) that you had an SDR-1000 tied to the other end instead of an
SDR-5000. Absolutely amazing! --LarryW8ER

Re: [Flexradio] POWERSDR 2.3.5--- JT65 V1.0.9.3----VAC V4.11

2012-03-21 Thread Rick Lehman
Thanks Mike. I reviewed the link prior to changing my settings. As I
recall you have to have VAC 4.11 installed before you can change the windows
setting to 192 kHz. I back it down last night. We shall see if it stays
fixed. Thanks again for the information.

Hi Rick

I'm not sure how you change the sample rate for Line 1 of VAC for example
to 192khz. I just checked mine and the highest it goes is 48k.

What happens if you run at 48khz and ensure that it is all the default
setting for Line 1 and Line 2 of both the playback and recording channels.

Have a look at the link I sent.

Just a thought, but have you configured your default sampling rates all
the

way through the audio chain make sure the default is the same?

Hi All,

I did some more experimenting today and found that if I lowered the SWR
Target value from 1.5 (default) to 1.1 which gave the ATU something to
improve on 10m & 12m it works fine now. I also found that you need to go to
each band and press the ATU button so the ATU database has some "default"
values for each band.

Subject: [Flexradio] PowerSDR 2.3.5 Flex3000 ATU Form

Hi All,

I had my first chance to play radio today since upgrading to the new
release. I noticed on the F3K ATU form a box labeled [Auto Mode]. So I
checked the box and pressed the ATU button to get things going. I made a
couple of band changes and heard some clicking in the radio each time and
thought cool. My F3K ATU now works like the ATU in a "legacy" radio. This
function seems to work on all bands for me except 12m. Every time I select
12m the ATU goes into bypass which I wasn't surprised since my loop is
flat

on 12m. But when I changed to a band with a know higher SWR it stays in
bypass until I press the ATU button. Now I've not tried doing a database
reset, or transmitting to see if that causing it to perform a tune. I
thought would ask the question here first to see what others have
experienced. I also don't remember seeing anything about this in the
release notes.

It seems to make it work the way you wish is to check both [Auto Mode] and
[Force Retune].

12m the ATU goes into bypass which I wasn't surprised since my loop is flat

[Flexradio] PowerSDR 2.3.5 Flex3000 ATU Form

Hi All,

checked the box and pressed the ATU button to get things going. I made a
couple of band changes and heard some clicking in the radio each time and

function seems to work on all bands for me except 12m. Every time I select
12m the ATU goes into bypass which I wasn't surprised since my loop is flat

[Flexradio] PowerSDR 2.3.5

2012-03-06 Thread k4xtt
Thank you guys for the updated program. Very well worth the wait. I
really like the new layout and the incorporation of VAC2 is really out
of this world!
I see a couple of little things that might be worked on but all in all a
very excellent release.

Thanks so much again:
Victor Alger K4XTT
