Re: [Flexradio] [FlexEdge] PB skins

2009-11-25 Thread Jerry Flanders
I think many of us would like to have the option of the standard
display when v2.0 is offered.I know I would.

I'm glad you mentioned this. The first time I tried pretty betty I
had to go back because of the exact observations you mentioned.
Others have also made note of this. My preference is readability and
functionality rather than eye candy with (in my opinion) these
shortcomings. At the time, I sent a few e-mails about it but is has
fallen on deaf ears and now when the next version is released, it
will apparently not give us a choice. There was a rumor that a
classic look skin may be developed. I think a significant number of
us would want it and I hope Flex cares enough about its customers to
realize that. If others prefer the classic look, Now is the time to speak up.

OK, I am finally running pb-pal. I have tried all the skins that come
with it but I am finding that, while definitely sexy, IMHO none of
them are as easy to visually navigate as the original appearance. The
glossy buttons just have less contrast. It appears that some of them
create the appearance of glare on the display.

Has anyone built a skin that is more like the original appearance that
includes the ability to set specific values into the sliders and with
more contrast on the buttons and labels? While perhaps not as artistic
I am thinking that it might make it easier for me to use. (It is hell
getting old and not have one's eyes be as good as they once were.)

Re: [Flexradio] [FlexEdge] PB skins

2009-11-25 Thread EB4APL
I was developing a skin with the classic look, as an exercise and for
the benefit of those who prefer or were used to that style.
I stopped when I didn't found a way to turn the texts in the panels to
black.
I submitted an enhancement request, but I realize that the development
team have a lot of more urgent things to do.
